Can anyone share the secret of seeing an icon like that and getting it to work in their own post  -  that explosion was exactly what I needed over in the SLIAC room!!!

Bard barely gets me a loss last night, losing by four  -   my run could be up later today when they take on Rivier, the proud owner of a single win this year.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Find the URL of an image you like, such as http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/basic/smileyvault-tomatoes.gif, and enclose it in image tags (the 'framed picture' in the tag bar above, or IMG and /IMG each enclosed in square brackets).

But beware that some people don't like smiley overload much...

In good news for me, the Ephs are off until Dec. 29.  In bad news, they play at Randolph-Macon at December 30 ... I figure MIT goes down to Harvard on the 29th, so I should at least make top four (barring a disastrous collapse against Elmira no the 29th ...).

magicman

Howard Payne gets their 1st win of the season over Sul Ross State 73-65. Down by five, 54-49 with 8 1/2 minutes to play the Yellowjackets reverse that deficit with a 12-2 run and are never headed.

Whether I lose the pool or not, I am extremely happy with my pick.  Went from a homer pick to the real thing.  I did not expect this with such a young team.  They are off to their best start in school history, 11-0.  Maybe we can start a consolation, undefeated vs. non-d1 schools pool just for me if they lose.

magicman

Eastern Mennonite loses their 1st although it's a non D3 team Southern Virginia who takes them down 92-79.

And Augustana with their loss to Wash U falls off the undefeated against D3 list.

Colby loses for the first time falling to Bowdoin 69-56.

Cornell loses to non D3 Mt. Mercy Friday night 70-61.

Albright drops off the list losing to Richard Stockton Friday night 72-62

On the winless list:

Hardin-Simmons wins their 1st of the season 75-74 beating University of the Ozarks.

Dickinson wins their 1st game friday night 55-50 against nonD3 Williamson Trade
.

Williamson Trade? Wow. The Mechanics (of course) were 9-1 and big shots in USCAA D-2. The gap between D-3 and USCAA D-2 is huge. I'd never call USCAA D-2 "glorified intramurals", though. Anytime there's a coach, plays and actual paid refs involved, it's real hoops.

Grinnell is a surprise. But I guess the system doesn't function if you can't shoot.

PS - I wonder if Matt Chalupa of Grinnell has heard his share of "Yo quiero Taco Bell" jokes?

PPS - The weirdest stat of all (when not thinking of the system). Grinnell has attempted 457 three-pointers. Their opponents just 13. That's like the old Augustana football program when they threw about one pass a half just for stuff & giggles.

They lost a ton from last year.  And of course, in "the system," you're always on the cusp of getting trashed if your shots don't go down or your press doesn't create turnovers.
