Quote from: sac on February 01, 2010, 01:28:38 PMtwo teams in the center of that mediocrity own a win over NCAC leader Wooster and another only lost by 7 to OAC co-leader John Carroll in the first game of the year. :)

Read a little slower ... Wooster lost to Albion and Olivet lost only by seven to John Carroll.
I read just fine, thanks.  "Two teams [beat Wooster] and another [lost to JCU]" is how it reads, slow or fast.  I presume he means "One team [beat Wooster] and another [lost to JCU]," but that's not what it says.

This whole thing would have gone much smoother if I'd just worded it better.

Two teams in the middle of the 'mediocrity' refers to Albion and Olivet who are tied in conference at 4-4 w/ 10-9 and 9-10 overall records.

Albion beat Wooster

Olivet lost by 7 to JCU in the first game of the season.

Just pointing out that mediocrity might not be the exclusive domain of the MIAA this season. ;)

At any rate...

Alma has a better chance of garnering a win than our fine fellows in California.

Right?

Right?

-d(a(du/dx))/dx+(d^2(b*(du^2/dx^2)/dx^2))+co*u+c1*(du/dt)+c2*(du^2/dt^2)=f(x,t)

yes?

Alma only lost to Hope by 9, so there is some...

They made 4 3 pointers in the final 1 1/2 minutes..........for 7 total minutes they outscored Hope something like 23-8, the rest of the game Hope ourscored them by 24

So if a team falls behind by 19 with 10:00 to go and then wins then it shouldn't count because they only outscored the other team for 1/4 of the game?

I think sac's point was that even though the final margin was only 9 points, it wasn't as if Alma had a serious chance to win down the stretch.

There's a difference between being down by 15 with 2 minutes to play and losing by 9 and being down by 5 with 2 minutes and losing by 9.

Alma loses a heartbreaker (don't know if it really was) but they lost by 3 at home to Adrian 54-51.

at Albion next.

smedindy

Looks like Alma had a five point lead with 11:53 left, but Adrian went on a 11-2 run and Alma could never catch up. The Scots missed a 3 at the buzzer.

Alma got drilled by 20 at Albion. Three more chances left. They play at Trine, home to Olivet and at Calvin.

Can they pull out one win?

OUCH! Caltech lost to CMS 96-28. They next play host to Occidental, hoping to avenge an 83-33 loss.

Oh, what has happened to that scrappy team that was within single digits against Fontbonne?
