Green Mountain College now has more than five players on their team as they had some transfers and some freshmen suit up for the 2nd semester. Here's the article:

http://athletics.greenmtn.edu/sports/mbkb/2010-11/releases/vtcpreview_010811

They still lost their 1st game of the semester with the new additions to NAIA Vermont Technical College today, 97-63, but at least the 5 starters didn't have to play the entire game. They got 48 minutes and 6 points from the bench.
I think their best chance for a win might be January 30th when they host NAIA II Paul Smith. There is a chance they could knock off visiting Lyndon State (1-9) on Jan. 18th, but I can see them going winless against D3. On February 1st they travel to #6 Middlebury. That one could be real ugly.

Mr. Ypsi

Even though I won with Crown this year, I think I am already putting in a claim on Green Mountain for next year! ;D  (We all overlooked them this time, but I have great confidence they could make Crown, Macalester, UMPI, etc., look like top 25 teams! ;))

A bit early for the selection, don't you think?  I'm not even sure it would be allowed by 'management'! :D

THIS year they are my most confident pick to go winless. ;)

Hey, for all I know Kobe, LeBron, and Shaq are all sending BIGGER 'little' brothers to Green Mountain next year! ;D

But, OK, unless rescinded before the contest starts next year, I've got Green Mountain. :D  (THIS year I bet they beat my Crown! 8-))

New poster to this section, being an upstate New Yorker I follow the Liberty League and E8, but an avid reader. I was checking out this week's Around the Nation column and it looks like the Green Mountain discussion caught their attention. Here's a link, it's about halfway down.

Green Mountain's coach just got a lost of respect from me - he knew he'd have a short roster yet did not ask those players back for not meeting expectations.

Yeah, I think it says a lot. It's rare these days for a coach to take a stand like that.

Well, I guess ATN doesn't read this board.  We've been on it since the beginning.

Or, it was the postings on this board that brought Green Mountain's story to the attention of the editors such that it was worthy of a feature piece on the "premier" news/analysis focus of D3Hoops.com, an ATN column

Ralph,
According to Mr. Fitzsimmons he got the idea for the article about Green Mountain from this source and I quote him from the article:

"Giving a quick shout out to Tim Meyer (Wooster '78) for putting me on to the situation at Green Mountain."

So it looks like Hoops Fan was right. He didn't read our board. ;D
