Since my winless team bombed out in the first d3 game of the season, I feel like a mulligan is in order.

I am now going with Gordon College.  They've scored exactly 38 points in each of their first two games and appear to be in desperation mode already.  Plus as the natural rival of my alma mater who spent the better part of the last decade making us look foolish, this is a win-win.

I'm going to be especially insistent on this, especially since it was just reported that Williams has four guards injured right now.  I would like to have some reason to come to this board in December.

Yeah, I'd be pretty stunned if Williams can make it past the first three games without a loss, considering that two of them are pretty tough opponents (Salem State and what figures to be a much-improved Wesleyan team).  Wang may be the only guard from the top four to play this weekend (at this point, the team has only one healthy PG, and he is new to the program and hasn't played organized hoops for a year), and if he does his minutes would be very limited.  The starting center may also be out, although there is solid depth at that spot.  If Williams can somehow survive these first three games, guys should start gradually returning to the rotation and I like their chances going forward, but that is a huge if.

I picked UofR on the winning side before.  I'll take Cazenovia on the losers.

My Caz pick was made the 16th.  Turns out they (somehow) won their opener on the 15th.  GENIUS!  So can I take the team they beat?  Baptist Bible?

I'll take the Whitworth Pirates to be unbeaten and on the other side of the country I'll go Green Mountain Eagles to go winless
I'll change my winless to conference foe Earlham

My winless pick was Oneonta St. They promptly proceeded to win their 1st game, defeating Kean by 20 points, 78-58. They lost their top 6 scorers off a 9-17 team and I picked them to come in 10th in the SUNYAC. May have to re-calculate that. But I'll take my loss like a man and won't beg for a mulligan like the above losers. ;D

They played Grinnell, though, and Grinnell jobbed the system so their guys could score a bazillion against them. So counting that it's a system game and the other shenanigans, it's just a 10-point loss. Heh.  :o

I think Mr. Ypsi was trying to pull his old Maine-Presque Isle trick on us. He chose them in the winless pool 1 year because he stated that even if they  should get lucky and win a game they were so isolated that no one would know about it. I don't know how isolated Oberlin Ohio is but there was certainly no mention by the man from Ypsilanti that the Yeomen had indeed won their 1st game yesterday as they took down the Earlham Quakers 76-58. If I was going to take a mulligan in the losers pool I'd have to think the Quakers would be a good choice. They lost again today to fall to 0-3. I'm surprised Mr Y didn't have them as his 1st choice as they visited his hometown back on Oct. 30th for an exhibition against Eastern Michigan. After all when you have a chance to see a team that was 2-23 (0-18 in conf.) last year I would think they might be right up there on your list to get a scouting report on. Perhaps he'd still be alive had he done so. ;D
