sac's Maine no hyphen Maritime Mariners goes down winning, as they defeat the Maine hyphen Augusta Moose in back to back years, this time by a whopping margin of 30 points, 103-73. Wow... Maine no hyphen Maritime hitting the century mark...whoda thunk it. :o

That's a devastating win. :-[

Caltech came within two points of George Fox, on the road.  That squad is going to win SOME games this year.

I saw that, and George Fox beat Grinnell last week.I lost my Undefeated pick last night as Plattsburgh State went down and it's only a question of time before Caltech, my winless pick, wins a game. It could happen today.

My pick for undefeated, Scranton, lost Wednesday @ Misericordia 49-44 when preseason All-American Ross Danzig sat out with an ankle injury.

Collectively a very poor job by our pickers selecting winless teams, after just 7 game days in the books we're already down to just 4 pickers and 3 schools and Cal Tech has a shot at beating Pacific today.

At this point I've only looked at the overall winners/losers, looks like about 6 loveable losers have a win but not a D3 win and Whitewater with its loss to NAIA.

7express

Knox is still winless & Western Connecticut is still undefeated.

;D  I changed my undefeated pick from Purchase to Western on November 11 so that should definitely stick.

Knox is a little more complicated: They were going to be my original pick but FCGrizz grabbed them at the beginning of the "Pine Manor eligibility controversy [since his original was Pine Manor]."  Once that was cleared and Grizz went back to his original selection, it sent Knox back into the free agent pool and I picked them up before anyone else did.  That SHOULD stick too  :)

magicman

Yeah 7express made his changes in time so he's completely eligible to win either contest.

Caltech loses to Pacific 56-47 so I'm still alive in the Winless Pool. The Beavers face Whitman next but then have to get by UC Santa Cruz on Dec. 13th. Last year the Beavers beat the Banana Slugs 70-67, for one of their three wins.

Mr. Ypsi

Good switch by magicman - Purchase lost again and has started the season 0-5 (maybe you 'fat-fingered' and meant to pick them for winless?! ;D)  Not a record (since he switched away from them) but gotta be a record for an 'almost pick'!

Good that no one picked traditional power Wittenberg - they have started 0-4.

I'm interested in seeing how far IWU falls in the poll.  They lost their opener to 'meh' Benedictine, but have won their last two (neither a powerhouse).  This week they play three games they 'should' win; will that keep them (or restore them) to the top ten?  (I thought #4 was WAY to high anyway, but if they want to say it, I won't protest!)

Chuck must be smoking that wacky weed again as I didn't switch anything. I was on Plattsburgh State from day 1. The switches were made by 7express Chuck, as he and I both stated in the previous posts. ::)

Mr. Ypsi

Mia culpa - I knew perfectly well it was 7express and typed in magicman anyway.  I had just looked at the picks and have a photographic memory, but more and more often I find I'm out of film. :-[

Not quite sure why I even bother with this page - I was dead in both contests before the first week was out! :P
