Summit is not a new team but a new name for the former Baptist Bible who usually had a decent record each year.

Given that "point" is a common synonym for "summit", I assume he means to choose Baptist Bible.

David,

For your information, Baptist Bible has changed their name. They are now known as the Summit University Defenders. In the future please try to refer to them by their new moniker. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, it is sincerely appreciated.

Eastern Connecticut loses 60-50. It's not opening day unless someone has their pick knocked out

Nice knowing you guys this year, good luck!

You've still got your Cairn Highlanders in the Winless pool, at least until tomorrow night. And if they lose to Wilson they might never win a game all year. I believe Wilson's entire roster from last year is gone. So either they brought in a hell of a recruiting class and cut all the guys that returned this year or none of those guys that could have returned...wanted to. ??? :o

The Winless Pool Friday night action

Lesley, Summit, and Penn College all lost as expected.

The Undefeated Pool Friday night action

Augustana, Whitworth, Marietta, and Scranton all won.

Eastern Connecticut lost to WPI and 7express waved good bye.

7express gets the "First One Out Prize" which  John Gleich has been holding onto for the past year since IWU lost last Nov. 15th

I think I may have set a record too, but we need the researchers to verify it: I was the "champ" last year I recall as I was the only one standing on December 15 when my pick (Western Connecticut) suffered it's first L, so has the defending champ EVER gone out on opening night??
Edit: Going back and reading through the previous 15 or so pages, there were so many teams left on December 15 (18) that we did a "second chance" unbeaten pool which I won again with Marietta.  So, I think that's safe to say that this is the first time the "second chance" champion also won the regular season champion and got eliminated on opening night the next year.  And it's probably pretty safe to assume that'll probably never happen again for a couple reasons:
1) When are we all going to be so bad at selecting teams to finish unbeaten where there will still be enough left when that happens to do a round 2??
2) What are the odds lightning strikes you twice that year and you won both??
3) And then the team you select the next year has to actually play on opening night the next year.  There really weren't a lot of teams playing tonight as most start tomorrow, so have to get lucky on that front as well.
I should go play the lotto tomorrow.

I was going to mention all those facts about last year but thought, you might have thought, I was rubbing it in. :D

You're right buy a lotto ticket.  Good luck.
