1/28/20       CCNY gets their 1st win of the season, beating Staten Island, 79-70

BUT... Staten Island is no longer a CUNYAC D school.. they are NCAA-D2 this year, despite playing a full CUNYAC schedule..

So.. CCNY moves to the Winless vs D3 only category..

Bard, Finlandia, and Lesley still winless
Colby, Swarthmore still undefeated

Of course that win counts in the CUNYAC standings for CCNY, so maybe you make an exception and count it as a d3 win.  I believe it will count in regional ranking criteria, as well - there was an exception made this season because of CSI's sudden departure.

no it doesn't...CSI is playing a double round robin CUNYAC schedule but their games are not considered league games. CCNY is  1-17 (0-8 CUNYAC) and still winless against D3.

My bad.  The conference isn't counting them, but the NCAA Championships committee approved using CSI games towards post-season qualification, so they will show up in regional ranking information.  That's in the Sept meeting report.  The NCAA considers CUNYAC games against CSI to be in-region d3 contests.  I don't think that waiver applies to non-conference games, though.

Correct, Ryan... the NCAA is allowing the games to count for CUNYAC members because it was such a sudden departure, they aren't getting hamstrung to try and find two more games in the middle of conference schedules. It might sound easy for one team, but the entire conference trying to do that would have been rough.

The conference may not be counting the games, but conference teams aren't being hurt by CSI being on their schedules.

For this board's purposes, CSI is a D2 school, and the win is not a win for CCNY ov a D3 school...
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Well, their SOS is being hurt, because CSI is terrible this year.  They might've preferred those wins not count for anything.

2/7/20... CCNY moves out of the Winless vs D3 only category

They get their 1st win against a D3 team, winning at Brooklyn College, 69-65... a pretty big surprise as Brooklyn was in contention for the CUNY regular season crown just a week ago.... But the bottom has dropped out as the Bulldogs have dropped 3 in a row...
Congrats to CCNY!!!!

CCNY women have a decent player, Reilly Boehm, she is averaging over 27ppg.  Actually leads D-III women in scoring.  She hasn't played in the past two games. She had 49 points on 1/26 at Lasell. She had 41 against Potsdam on 12/14.
