I don't know how I feel now that MC is the most popular pick for the survivor pool.  Just remember that when I picked it, I was the only one.

Maybe it's not a matter of everyone thinking Mississippi College is that good, rather it's "Hey wow, that guy Hoops Fan picked Mississippi College and he seems like a smart guy, I'll pick them too!" ;D :D :P

I do that with Sager all the time.  ;)

The pool is not exclusive - you can pick Woo even though they have already been picked.

Last year I picked IWU (along with several others); being a loyal alum, this year I picked IWU again, though I don't expect to have to share! ;D

(While my pick was obvious 'homerism', it was also serious - despite graduating 7 of their top 8, they've got some REAL talent.  Because so many are new, I'll PROBABLY be knocked out early, but if they come together they should be VERY dangerous come January and February.)

I'll let you go this time, but on a message board like this we can't have too many picks from one person floating around.  So if you already picked, you're stuck there.

I can just see this coming down to some crazy technicality in late January when the second to last team loses for the first time.

This is what I have so far:

Alright, there is our first pick for last year's winner.  As it stands the only duplicate pick so far is my own, Mississippi College, which had been chosen by three posters.

Which means one of four things   ;D ;D ;D

1. It's a great pick, and is obvious enough that several people have picked it

2. Your basketball knowledge is so great, that others are just following your lead  ;)

3. Some people figure if they're gonna go down, it might as well be with someone else

4. It's some kind of sucking up to the guy who is compiling the info   :o

Isn't Old School (who picked Whitworth) more or less in charge of this endeavor?  Or has there been a bloodless coup?

Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan)

I volunteered to compile data in the post before old school said he was doing it.  So I have a list, but I'm not officially in charge.

By the way, if #4 is correct, then the proper way to suck up would be to pick other schools so, in the off chance that I win, I'm the lone winner and can feel superior in some sense for an entire off-season.
