I exit the contest with a huge smile - knowing that my evil plot worked.  I picked Calvin hoping it would jinx them, but the Hope players did it for me!!

As usual, I'm letting down the good name of the Hall of Fame.  Oh, I suppose you could say that Ralph is too, but we all know that his pick was just his attempt to work voodoo on the Choctaws.  I have no such excuse.  :-[

Ralph Turner

Mississippi College comes to McMurry this Thursday.  In fact McMurry has a great weekend with the Choctaws on Thursday, Louisiana College on Saturday and at Hardin-Simmons on Monday night.

It is hard to find a better women's rivalry than Hardin-Simmons/McMurry.  See photo gallery from 2005.

The game is at HSU this time and starts at 5:30 pm with the Men to follow!

Mr. Ypsi

If I'm counting it right (and no more losses already tonight), we have 12 teams (14 pickers) down, 8 teams (10 pickers) still surviving.  I don't know how this compares to previous years, but since we are supposedly picking only the 'best of the best', this seems a bit on the poor side for so early in the year.

If I had noticed that IWU was playing AT #4 UWW in their second game, I would never have picked them.  Once we survived that game, I thought things looked awfully good through about mid-January.  To recycle a cliche, I guess that is why they play the games!  (And why it may not be wise to pick a team that graduated 8 of its top 9 players, AND has a new coach!)

Per the NCAC board, I take it that Woo and Witt play each other in about two weeks.  Any other matchups of survivors on the horizon?

Mr. Ypsi

Per the ODAC board, Va Wes falls to Averett.

David Collinge

Per the Scoreboard as well.  It was 81-73 for Averett.

Also per the scoreboard, Sager's Fighting Violets stay unbeaten by throttling York (NY), 56-36.  York, of course, beat both #18 Christopher Newport and #7 WPU to start the season.
