Yeah, we mentioned that upthread a bit. Ouch.

I don't see the Macalester women's team winning a game either, a year removed from forfeiting the season because they didn't have enough players.  Their scores weren't nearly as bad as CCNY, but they were still pretty brutal.

Smed, I think that we need to spot Cal Tech the IQ points in each half.

Cal Tech average IQ (160?) + 1st half points + IQ + 2nd half points = TU/Southwestern IQ (140?) + 1st half points + TU/Southwestern IQ + 2nd half points. ???

OS - you can add that Hope (based on winning or losing) will also have a game on Sat vs the winner/loser of Calvin v Cornerstone.

Unless I overlooked someone, the only relevant game tonite was MC (they won by 30).  No changes.

#97
Seven games on tap tonite, several of them toughies:

#1 IWU home to Olivet Nazarene (a perennial NAIA power)
#2 UW-Oshkosh FINALLY opens @ Lawrence (LU has done well in the tourney the last few years, lost a lot to graduation, but still got 24 pts. in the poll)
#6 York home to Gettysburg
Christopher Newport @ #11 Virginia Weleyan
#12 Ramapo home to Rutgers-Newark
#17 WPI home to Bridgewater St.
#25 Catolic home to Haverford

Did I overlook anyone?

Thanks FDF, I did see that, but I just wanted to list the next two games for each team alive.  :)

Mr. Ypsi,

Lawrence did lose some players to graduation, but they still have Chris Braier.  They also return Osland and MacGillis.  The latter didn't start, but was 3rd in scoring and 5th in minutes/game.  And not to be outdone, Lawrence FINALLY opens their season too!  Not that anyone picked them.

OS,

Just a gentle dig at Oshkosh pickers who chose a team that didn't even play until nearly half the pool was eliminated! ;)

Though Amherst pickers may have been even smarter - as long as they won last weekend (and I don't think they were seriously challenged), everyone else has to still be undefeated through their 6th or 7th game before Amherst plays their 3rd! >:(

uh oh  does this leave a hole in the interpretation of who the winner of this contest is???    By Date, or by number of games won?    Old School, we need an interpretation!!!!

While that question MAY need to be addressed, I submit that the runner(s)up of this contest will not fall before AT LEAST the 15th game!  SOMEBODY will run (or NEARLY run) the table.

Greek Tragedy

Last time I checked, I believe it's mathematically impossible for two teams to finish unbeaten come the end of the 2005-2006 NCAA season, including post season.   ??? ::) ;)

OS,

I think you misunderstood his question.  Obviously, two teams cannot finish undefeated (including postseason).  But what if the next-to-last unbeaten falls on Feb 14, with 16 wins, while the final unbeaten goes down 2 days later, having won 15 games?  Who wins the pool: the 16-0 team losing on 2-14, or the 15-0 team losing on 2-16?  One survived longer by the calendar, the other by the number of games.

It is doubtful that the scenario will arise, but it is certainly possible.

smedindy

Now, someone could go unbeaten, but not selected for the tourney if they are a Pool B, or are not eligible for the tourney. THAT can happen.
