Guilford now 2-0 and they don't play again until the 24th. I get to watch for the next week and see if the field gets narrowed down.

My symphathies to Hoops Fan who not only got eliminated but was first led to believe he had won his game tonight.

Well, as a matter of fact, I just got off the phone with Coach Semling and Point's decided not to make the trip to the Northwest... Whitworth and UPS were just a little too scary.  :-P

They should be good games... Honestly, I haven't even really thought about UPS yet because the Whitworth game is first.  I'm going to be up in the Northwoods at my in-laws' hunting shack... I hope I can get radio reception up there!

I can't believe I'm so late to the party.  I see Old School has chosen the same school as someone else for a second year in a row, but he gets respect for being the first one to choose it this season.

I'm also glad we've taken WashU off the board - it's more fair that way and also a fitting tribute.

Are the Pointers trying to show off with that non-conference schedule?

Amherst seems like the best pick for me, but I am going to go out on a limb and blindly support the team I rode into last year's tournament:

Centre.

(Just to get it on the record, Randolph-Macon was my runner up choice.)

I'm bringing this post back, just to show that my weasely ways have payed off and supplied me with a second and third choice for whom to root.  So Amherst and RMC, you've got my awful karma on board.

DeSales falls to New Jersey 76-71.

David Collinge

The only reason I didn't take Wittenberg in this contest was that they were scheduled to run into Gettysburg at the Bullets' tournament, and I wasn't sure the Tigers could handle that.  Well, no more, as Messiah dropped Gettysburg by 13 in the preliminary round.  Witt took advantage of my not jinxing them and smoked Catholic by a cool 25.

hopefan

Rochester gets me a win vs Green Mountain, but they gave up most of a large half time margin... could be a tough game vs Tufts tomorrow night......
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

#2122
Old School is happy as Amherst wins 76-51 over Maine-Farmington
Point Special is smiling as the Pointers killed Whitworth 101-79
nescac1 is chuckling as Williams rolls over Southern Vermont 98-74
smedindy is laughing as St. Thomas knocks off Heidelberg 92-55
Greg's grin  ;D is huge as Franklin & Marshall pound New York City Tech 102-40. (When did F&M go to their bench?)

Ralph is breathing a little easier as Mississippi College tops Lakeland 89-78

magicman

The University of New England goes on a 13-2 run to end the game and downs UMass-Dartmouth 86-84.

Old School is doubly happy as he dumped his 1st choice(UMass-Darthmouth) because thatdude30 hopped on his train. :D

Calvin falls to Grace Bible 83-68. Knightslappy now gets to root for Wooster.

Well, if he wants to.  But I still say the 'rule' is to root for a team eligible for winning 'survivor'! :P

We're nearly half-gone before the first week is out, with either IWU or WashU guaranteed to be out before the weekend is over.

MIT crushes John Abbott 78-38.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps tops George Fox 76-67.

hugenerd and stag44 stay alive to fight another day.

Probably about the same time as Bethel did in the Royals' 93-21 win over Nebraska Christian tonight.

Mississippi College has reloaded again.

The Box Score shows that Coach Lofton gave double-digit miinutes to 10 players, and 13 players had 7 or more minutes in the game against Lakeland.

Of course, it's easy to beat a team that just dresses five.
