Mr. Ypsi

Medaille is now the sole remaining undefeated team.  Randy Mac didn't just fall off the list, they were smashed by Eastern Mennonite, 90-67.

And now there are none ... Medaille fell tonight as well, 68-65, at Pitt-Bradford.

Sac    I'd have to doublecheck all the schedules, but that could be the last game this season between totally winless teams.....   Of course there will be many matchups if the winless vs D3 teams are included .  Hopefully this room will give the Kzoo-Bluffton game some publicity!!

Also no more battles of the undefeated, with Williams losing last night, a potential undefeated match up of Middlebury-Williams was taken away.....  RMC-EMennonite still looms....

hopefan,

They may not be winless by the time February 8th, 2010 rolls around but on that date
FDU-Florham currently 0-7 hosts New York City Tech currently 0-8.

With New York City Tech beating St. Josephs (Bklyn) on Tuesday 1/11 the potential totally winless matchup against FDU-Florham on 2/8 is now a thing of the past. Of course the 0-13 Devils will still be looking forward to that date. There is no more matchups of 2 totally winless teams left.

And saving the best for last:  Maine-Presque Isle has dropped off the winless list as they beat St Joseph (Vt) 92-80 on 1/12. 8-) And not only that, they are the proud owners of a 2 game winning streak as the very next night, 1/13, they beat Vermont Technical College 84-70. And the most amazing part of all this is both of these wins came on the road!!! :o  GO OWLS

Maine Maritime over UMPI,  78-68        UMPI stays winless!!!! :o :o

Yes, but the countdown to their 1st victory has begun. 14 days till that MAGIC moment. ;)

Well Mr. Ypsi,
That Magic moment has arrived. It actually arrived 11 days early. Please go to the Survivor Pool board for comments about that.

Mr. Ypsi,
I remember well when you chose Maine-Presque Isle as your winless survivor team you stated they could actually win a game and no one would ever know about it. And I didn't even notice on Tuesday's scoreboard way down on the bottom that UMPI played St Joseph (Vt.). So tonight I was trying to help hopefan out by checking on some of the teams on the undefeated and winless lists and when I pulled up the team page for UMPI to see if they had played recently I was surprised to see they had 2 games scheduled for the 12th and 13th. However no scores were listed for those games. I then went to Tuesday's scoreboard and found the game listed but it was 1 of 5 unreported scores. So I went to Wednesday's scoreboard as they played Vermont Tech last night and that game wasn't even listed on the scoreboard.  I see that you have went to great lenghts to keep those victories by the Owls (yes victories-PLURAL) a secret even to the point of bribing Pat with God knows what  :( so he wouldn't  even list UMPI's game on the scoreboard last night. Two complete days have passed before I am able to claim a victory. If hopefan hadn't went to Vegas on vacation I still might not know I had won the winless survivor pool. I was covinced that UMPI's 1 chance for victory wouldn't occur until that big game against Paul Smiths on Jan 23rd. I guess we didn't know how hungry for a win they were. And now from winless to a winning streak. :o 6 wins is a possibility this year but 4 is more likely.

Mr. Ypsi

Two in a row!  Maybe next year I should take UMPI in the regular Survivor Pool! ;D

Except I guess they are no longer eligible.

Congratulations - your team stunk longer than my team! :D  (But I still would like to see a head-to-head. 8-))

Darryl Nester can probably verify but I think Bluffton University's current 0-16 start and 0-17 streak dating back to last season is the second longest losing streak in Bluffton's men's basketball history (their women's teams have had some really ugly losing streaks).  In the 1990-91 season they rattled off 20 losses in a row after winning their first game in a 4-22 season.  Did anyone pick the Beavers in the pool?

Bluffton's recent history was that of a team far too strong to get any support in our winless pick em pool. The Beavers have had double digit wins every year for the past 10 years.  We were looking at teams some of whom haven't had a total of 10 wins in the past 10 years. ;) Teams like the 2 finalists. Caltech with a total of 5 wins in the past 7 years and UMPI with 12 total wins in the past 4 years.

This would be a good year to have the battle of the Beavers. The Ohio Beavers of Bluffton (0-16) could take on the Illinois Beavers of Blackburn (2-10) and the loser of that game could take on the west coast Beavers of Caltech (0-13). I'm pretty sure Caltech would still be winless though to claim the crown.
