Wow. The College of Faith. Nickname the Mighty Believers (well, that's original at least!)

In their last football game against Southern Nazarene, they lost one yard, net. They may have a rather new program in athletics.

Though it looks like they are doing something for the greater good. Some quotes after their first game in football were about giving second chances to students that would not pass muster in the NCAA.

That IIT / College of Faith game may be a good one. North Central beat IIT 73-20.

IIT revived its basketball program this year after a three-year absence. The new coach had no chance to recruit, so he held open tryouts to fill out his roster. This win over Faith may be the only game the Red Hawks win all season.

Gordon is keeping pace with MIT at the half.  MIT doesn't appear able to play any worse in the second half, so I'm not too worried, but there's a little twinge in the back of my throat thinking about my pick for undefeated being taken down by my alma mater's arch-rival.

Indiana Dabney may be another chance or two.

After looking at IIT's sked, the Red Hawks actually have a bunch of chances at wins. They play Indiana Dabney twice, and the Colemans are pretty horrid; they, too, are a freshly-minted program, having only started play last season. They lost by 20 last weekend to another upcoming IIT foe, Moody Bible. IIT also faces Johnson & Wales (CO), the Mountain Time Zone branch of the famous multi-campus cooking and hospitality school, which has started off the season 0-6. I can't figure out which basketball-playing campus of DeVry the Red Hawks will face; the schedule says it's the Chicago campus, but the Chicago campus doesn't have an athletics page, while the Miami and Houston campuses do. Then there's Columbia College, the large (11,000 students) arts college in Chicago that, to the best of my knowledge, has never had intercollegiate athletics before. If you look at their website, it indicates that they still don't; all of their sports listings are intramural.

There's a whole netherworld of sub-D3 college basketball out there that is incredibly hard to track down on the web. And, right now, IIT is a part of it.

Live stats froze with 9:18 to play and MIT up one at Gordon.

Good work, Magicman.

Thanks Tom,

Unfortunately I have to reply with bad news as UW-Oshkosh is beatin Edgewood 64-53 in OT with 34 seconds to go. Has won 64-54 and falls off the winless list. Sorry.

I'm not a computer genius and I don't play one on TV.  Most of the time I'm having problems getting the dropdown links to open up on the front page when I go to the "scores" link and want to see "men's scores".  The other links like News, Teams, Columns usually don't work either.  It just worked now for me.  Is there a setting on my computer I need to change?  Is anyone else having problems with this or am I just a computer idiot?  Thanks.  I really annoys me because I like using those quick links on the front page.

I'm not having any problems with the drop-down menus; I frequently use both scores and teams today and yesterday; don't know what could be causing your problem.

It could be your browser.  You should be using something other than Netscape at this point.

Ethelred,

Isn't that 2 years in a row a win for your winless in their very first game. ??? I think it was Cazenovia last year. ;)

I must be a good luck charm.  Who knew....?
