FCGrizzliesGrad

F&M have won their last 4 games by a combined 20 points and the last two by a total of 5 points... but they're hanging in the undefeated pool for me. Now I have to decide whether to root for my HCAC to get a big win for the conference when they play Mount St Joseph and Transylvania back to back nights. Not too worried about MSJ winning but Transy might have a shot since they're hosting

You could still finish in 2nd place as all remaining teams play before Albertus does on the 18th except my Middlebury Panthers. F & M plays on the 18th, as well, and tips off 30 minutes after Albertus does. If the Falcons could somehow get Yale into OT before losing and all the other teams lose their next game, you'd come in 2nd.

Also hard to believe you wouldn't have taken the Pointers, instead of Albertus Magnus, if they were available. ;D

Is it beyond the realm of possibility for AM to defeat Yale?

Highly unlikely:

Yale's #282 out of #347 in Sagarin and in Pomeroy they're #261.

In Massey, in all of the NCAA, Yale's #275 and Albertus is #746.

Yale's not good for D-1, less than stellar. But their not horrifically bad like Grambling (#703 in Massey  - the nearest D-1 competitor to that ranking is Maryland - Eastern Shore at #627). I don't think Magnus can win unless Yale just puts up the stinker of all stinkers, or Albertus Magnus has a bit of Chaminade in them. (Even so, Chaminade's ranking in Massey is only 200 or so behind Texas...)

If you want to be transitive: Yale beat Bryant who beat Boston College who beat Penn State who beat Bucknell who beat George Mason who beat Virginia who beat Wisconsin....

In 2004 Williams beat Holy Cross by 7 in Worcester, and Yale's record to date this year is significantly inferior to that of Holy Cross then, but AM this year is surely inferior to Williams then.

smedindy

I don't think that Williams team would have beaten 2012-13 Lasell by just 4.

While perusing through Ken Massey's D3 rankings I discovered three omissions that should have been on our radar and added them to the latest post above, that shows the complete Undefeated and Winless lists.

Lakeland is still undefeated with a 6-0 record.

SUNYIT is still winless with an 0-4 record.

Concordia-Chicago (I thought we called them Concordia (Ill.) or am I dreaming?) is still winless with an 0-7 record.

Massey does show another undefeated team, Thomas More, who was on my list, but dropped off as they lost on 12-8 to Washington and Jefferson and he doesn't have that game listed on their schedule.

I'm surprised with all of the eagle eyes on this board, those omissions were never picked up. ???

They're Concordia-Chicago now. It's a recent change but that's what they went by in football this year.

Who compiled the undefeated / winless vs. D-3 list? Was there some spreadsheet involved?

SUNYIT is in the right (?) conference to leave the winless list. Lots of win opportunities abounding there.

The school, which is located in the western suburb of River Forest, used to call itself Concordia University-River Forest (CURF), but a few years ago it redubbed itself Concordia University-Chicago (CUC), presumably because there's even a lot of people in Chicagoland who don't know where or what the heck River Forest is.

Me, I keep calling it Concordia (IL), because it's not in Chicago. If you want people to think you're in the 'hood, then move your campus to the 'hood. ;)

Yes, I did that in the past... had a spreadsheet that downloaded scores from this site and generated win-loss records... no spreadsheet this year, but I'm missing it badly.. it will likely reappear next year to help here as well as maintain the d3 vs non d3 records....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Mr. Ypsi

What Greg said!  The campus is 3 blocks from my brother's old house (he's retired from Oak Park-River Forest HS) - no matter how they try to spin it, it is CURF (or, in deference to Greg, Concordia (IL))  Only in their PR department is it Concordia-Chicago. ::)

I really miss the D3 vs. Others results. But, since I don't have the stamina and the stick-to-it-iveness to do it myself, I can't very well plead for somebody else to do it.
