Caltech wins it, 60-59!  Bard led by 6 twice early in the game; otherwise neither team EVER led by more than 4.

In Pool action on Saturday evening:

Elmira stays defeated as they lose to Union 56-49 in Daytona Beach. Elmira will try again tomorrow as they take on Merchant Marine also in Daytona beach.

Caltech takes advantage of the Bard men as they steal the ball with 5 seconds left and it seals the win for the Beavers 60-59. I warned mazillagd that Caltech could win this one. Winless Pool now down to 4 players.

North Central stays undefeated as they get by UW-La Crosse 80-72 at the D3hoops Classic in Las Vegas.

In a missed opportunity, Piedmont canceling the rest of their season which will guarantee a winless finish.  Story on d3hoops. Could have been the first winless winner in December I'm guessing.

This is very close to what Mr. Ypsi wanted. ;D    He had what he was looking for right in front of him and chose Martin luther instead.

Aha - my strategy for next season!  Find a team that due to some (not yet known) scandal will cancel their season! ;D  A record of 0-0 is still winless, right! ;)  Then I'll pick the same team for undefeated!  What a coup - one team, both titles! 8-)

Yep - if I coulda foreseen that, I had a sure winless winner!  Of course, I'm greedy - I want a winless AND undefeated winner all in one!  Gotta abort the season on November 14th! ;D

BTW, magicman, you don't have the ultimate undefeated winner yet - Albertus Magnus is still undefeated against d3! ;)

A loss is still a loss. Our Pool wasn't The Undefeated against D3 Pool. ;D  And Yale is so bad this year they should be considered D3. ;)

A couple comparative scores make Muskingum a big favorite......

Massey has Muskingum as an 84% favorite.

On the women's side, Medgar Evers comes back from Christmas vacation, only to lose to Allegheny, 82-6.   Seems like ball handling may be one of our heroine's problems.. as they ran up 47 turnovers, versus a mere 22 shot attempts.... :'( :'(

Just imagine if there was a women's team out there, whose Coach implemented the Grinnell full court system, and this coach decided he wanted to go for some records... and they lined up 'our' ladies....  WOW    what a nightmare....
