Interesting result in the Empire 8 conference tonight as a former member of our Winless Pool, Elmira who hung around in the pool until January 3rd before they finally got a win, has upset the co-leader of the league Ithaca 72-66. Ithaca could have moved into sole possession of 1st place with a win tonight which would have given them a 5-0 league mark. Instead they fall into a 2nd place tie with Nazareth at 4-1 and leave #24 Stevens all alone in the top spot with a 4-0 league record. Elmira, the perennial doormat in the E8 improves to 3-12 on the year. They have already equaled their win total for the past 2 seasons when they were 1-24 and 2-23. Since the start of the 2008 season they are now 14-101, but for tonight, at least, the Soaring Eagles are flying high. 8-)

Mr. Ypsi

magicman, at your suggestion I added Stevens @ Ithaca to my 'watch list' for the national pickems.  After tonight, they have now been scratched out! :P

You realize of course that if you did schedule the Ithaca-Stevens game, everyone will pick Stevens (except me). Ithaca is going to pull off an upset against Stevens and you would be well on your way toward the Scheduler of the Year award. Don't say I didn't warn you. ???

I think Franciscan can keep it under 50 against PSU-Altoona, thats if they don't blow it all and go do something crazy like win.  Only lost by 4 last time.
