Big game in winless contest on Tuesday is Prin at St Louis Pharma... Pharma beat them close earlier in the year, and Prin was without big man Kenny Sydness in that game..  Im in trouble with this one  SCOP lost two in Kentucky this weekend.. badly... to fall to 5-8... good news that 3 players who garner most of their favorable stats are all back and playing this semester.. if Prin loses that one, they then have Lincoln Christian, a 13 point loser to stl pharma, on Saturday..

I don't recall this being discussed here, but is Piedmont the ultimate winless team this year because they canceled the rest if the year... So they CAN'T win game?

Well, in case of a tie I think the ultimate winless team is the team that lost the most games - they had more chances to win!

Piedmont is an aberration, and really doesn't belong on the winless list due to the cancellation of their season in my opinion. This could have happened after 1 game instead of 7. We wouldn't even think of considering them if that was the case so I don't think they should be in the mix and in fact I'm going to delete them the next time I update the complete list. I've been thinking of doing so for the past several weeks anyway so I might as well just do it. ;D

The only game on Sunday had undefeated #2 Rochester defeat Case Western Reserve on the road 88-66 to improve to 16-0.

So I've been taking a closer look at UMPI today, as Eastern Nazarene decided to make the 800 mile round trip up there for a game today.

UMPI features three players from England, including 6'8" Senior Patrick Manifold, who is having a field day against ENC, who is missing their own 6'8" senior, Chima Ezeigbo, who, I assume, is at the dentist getting his front tooth fixed after losing it in the game on Saturday.

UMPI also features Sophomore Bob Wegner (who hasn't played today).  Listed at 7'8" - you read that right - he was once declared "the world's tallest teenager."

Anyway, this is an interesting roster to say the least.  I sure hope ENC can pull it out, but with the travel, fatigue, and missing their best player, it could be a tall order.  Not to mention they play on a sheet of ice in the dark at UMPI, you know, because of how far north it is.

Not only did he not play today, according to UMPI's stats he hasn't played a single minute all year.

Eastern Nazarene won a close one though, 70-68.

I saw pictures of him playing in high school and I saw some "positive" quotes about him from the coach - something like "he certainly changes the game just by stepping onto the floor."

I could see some measure of difficulty moving well at that height.  His arms of ridiculously long - he's gotta be able to dunk without jumping.

He played in 15 games last year, never more than seven minutes, scoring 7 total points for the year.

Results from Monday January 21st:  Only 1 game on tap but the result was rather unexpected.

In Undefeated Pool action:

#1 St. Thomas  16-0              Lost at Concordia-Moorhead 54-52 on 1-21    The Tommies had won the earlier matchup in St. Paul back on December 3rd by a score of 93-64. Quite a turnaround by the Cobbers.

Prin gives up 13 point 2nd half lead, goes up one with 9 seconds left in OT, but St Louis Pharma's  Gozie Utendo (no, not 'go see nintendo') scores at the buzzer for a St Louis Pharma win.... At the level these two teams play, it must have been a terrific game, back and forth at the end of regulation, and biggest margin  in OT was 2 points....

Prin stays winless and Sac and I continue the battle

As I mentioned before, Saturday Jan 26th now looms huge in this head to head... Prin takes on Lincoln Christian, whom Stl Pharma beat earlier, while Sac's Franciscan squad plays D'Youville, whom they lost to by only 3 earlier  ...  Franciscan also faces a threat from Pitt Greensburg tonight....
