Instead of a draft, why not an auction?

Gregory Sager

Or a lottery? I'm thinking of a number between one and 412 ...

Seriously, though, a draft is the way to go.

Hmm.. I'm really liking the lottery idea... can I choose that when it's my turn to pick in the draft?

I think I will give everyone until Sunday November 3rd to get their name in the hat for the survivor pool draft.

Sunday evening I will draw cards for the draft order. Any problems with that?

By the way I find it ridiculous that we have to resort to a draft to pick a survivor team. LOL :-) I would have been content with just setting a date and saying you can't pick a team until then. I will admit I was a little surprised when posters were picking teams in August. I guess some of us are a little more hardcore than others. But thats just me.

Or that people feel unable to choose a team someone else already picked - which was never, ever the case unless it was self imposed.

It's not a big deal to have multiple people picking the same team if this room is simply a venue for speculation, which is perfectly fine. But, as often seems to be the case on d3boards.com, the speculation became competitive -- and, since it was competitive, it seemed to preclude the idea of people sharing teams, as sharing teams is less fun and less competitive in a division that contains 412 teams. Nothing wrong with that, either; after all, competition is what sports is all about.

Mr. Ypsi

As the only 'genuine' Titan here, I appeal to others to let me have IWU - besides, playing in the CCIW, no sane non-Titan would want them anyway! :o ;)

Last year the Titans made it to 13-0 in conference before falling to FF team NCC - which I fully expected, once NCC got healthy.  No one has run the table in CCIW play in 40 years (Augie did it in 1973; IWU in 1970).  Even North Park's 5 national title teams never pulled it off.

Good luck with that appeal!  ;D You better hope you get the first or second pick cause I don't think they'll last longer than that. :o

OK, LET'S START AN OFFICIAL LIST

Who's in for the draft this year? Due date to get your name in the hat is THURSDAY, NOV. 7, 10 pm Eastern time. That gives us a full week to get the draft done and then anyone else who wants to play after the draft is finished. Games start Friday, Nov. 15, right?
