Calvin is out, losing to Cornerstone..... taking down FCGrizzlies and Knight Slappy

We are down to only 3 contestants left in the undefeated pool!!!

As a comparison, last year we got to 3 teams in the undefeated pool on 12/18/12... :( :(

More embarrassing, there are 51 OTHER D3 schools still undefeated that no one picked!!!!

My alma mateasy scheduleer, Eastern Nazarene College is still undefeated, playing a very easy schedule. If they can get by Endicott this week, they could remain so into January. Crazy times.

If you didn't notice, the 3 teams remaining are the top 3 in the Top 25 poll: Amherst, Stevens Point and Wooster.

After checking the upcoming schedules, to say they don't favor Stevens Point would be an understatement.

Point opens conference play next weekend at Eau Claire and then hosts Whitewater on Dec.11. From there to New Year's, they play at St. John's, St. Thomas, Whitworth and Whitman in Las Vegas and then at North Central. Meanwhile, Amherst plays at Brandeis on the 10th and at Babson on the 12th. Then the Lord Jeffs are off until the New Year! Go Brandeis!

Mr. Ypsi

Didn't check any of the others, but Witt is NOT undefeated - Wheaton beat them the second day of the season.

Transylvania just picked up their first W with an 81-76 win over Wilmington in their game suspended the first weekend.

..and DePauw loses at Washington 71-60

..Kalamazoo takes its first loss at Chicago 100-83

Nice work, hopefan!

Thanks GT... I enjoy playing with it... even more NEXT season when I'm retired...

Regarding the contest... I think a real favorite in the winless contest is rising to the top, or er ah falling to the bottom...   in Cairn...  they're being beat pretty badly in every game, and there seems to be no obvious sure thing win remaining on their schedule... they do have Oberlin, but despite a one win season thus far, Oberlin should be much better, and then at the end of January, a potential deal breaker at Bryn Athyn...Bryn is 0-5, but have lost 3 games close, so can't be that bad... but that's the one FC Grizzlies and Sager will have to sweat out...

Babson recently lost to fellow undefeated squad Bowdoin, so will be dropped from the list next go-around.

I would be curious why no one else picked Amherst in the undefeated pool.  I was the very last person to make a pick and was shocked to find the Lord Jeffs still on the table.  As a defending national champion, and pre-season number one to start this year, I would have though someone would have taken a chance on them.  As it is, Amherst is one of three teams still alive in the undefeated pool, and i'm feeling a bit sheepish wondering whether I'm really so smart.

Inquiring minds want to know!   :o
