D3. Men's college basketball. United States. This season. If we didn't use provisional before, we won't now.

And since we didn't use provisional teams in the past I don't think we are now. Several players should choose new teams or run the risk of probable disqualification.

Most of the teams I like for undefeated have one game that's scary they'll need to get through to have a chance to win.

While I think Albertus Magnus has the best shot to go undefeated, I'm going to take the homer pick and choose Eastern Nazarene College.  Weak early schedule - only one scary game before Christmas - lots of experience returning.  Plus I want them to win.


I'll jump on with Greg and Cairn for winless.  Makes a lot of sense.

They are 4th year provisional though. Almost, almost there. Plus they play just one non D3 team I see; their season closer against NJIT.

ALMOST only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

I think rather than considering provisional or non provisional status, a team's schedule should be taken into account...  they should have to play so many D3 games to be eligible... I won't say how many, but anywhere from 14 to 16 seems reasonable... 

For instance, we are eliminating Iowa Wesleyan for their provisional status, but they play 18 D3 games.. on the other hand we may allow John Gleich to select Maranatha (do they really have NCAA status?), but Maranatha only plays 7 D3 games.

Is MBBC eligible for D3 post season for men's basketball? I see their schedule lists the NCCAA post season tourney.

Are there other full fledged NCAA D3 members that are not eligible for post season play?

Maybe the requirement should be you have to be eligible for NCAA Division III post season play. I don't know and I guess I honestly don't care.

Anyway,  you guys figure it out.  If you want to include Pine Manor and provisionals and then just have qualifiers for all the winners, I don't care. You guys are big boys.

If you want to set the number of opponents against D3 teams, that's fine too. If you just want to include full fledged members and pat John on the back for taking advantage of the system,  more power to you.  Just make a decision.

Isn't the easiest thing to just allow the NCAA to make the decision for us? Full members = eligible, Provisional members = not eligible.
