They are on d3hoops.com as having a team. Their site says nothing about being a club team. Maybe Pat has a ruling on them.

The trip to Buffalo is on Pine Manor's schedule, but they are no longer on Buff State's.

15 minutes in and there's Controversy. Cue Prince...

Maybe the coaches just wanted an 'out' for playing a team they'd roll by 60 or so?

Plattsburgh's Coach Curle knew he'd win the game by a huge margin and he was fine with that until he found out that it wouldn't count as a game because of Pine Manor's club status. That's when both SUNYAC schools cancelled their games. Beating up on a D3 team that's not very good is one thing but if the win doesn't count as a win then what's the point?
The Buffalo St thing is back on according to Buff St. The "tournament" is now a 3 team round robin Nov 20-22 between Buff St, Point Park, and Pine Manor

I've read absolutely nothing about them being a club team and don't see why they would be considered as such. They're a full fledged D3 school starting a mens basketball program. I don't see them being any different than Wilson.
According to their website it's listed as a varsity sport like all their other sports.

I spoke to Coach Curle today about Pine Manor. Apparently they were listed as a D3 school when Plattsburgh agreed to be a part of the Buffalo State tournament. Then the 2 schools...Buff State and Plattsburgh, were told in mid October that Pine Manor wasn't going to count in their won-lost record as they were a club team. This was because Pine Manor hadn't completed necessary paperwork at the time to make them a D3 team. Both Buff State and Plattsburgh cancelled their games with them and the tournament was called off. Plattsburgh went and scheduled the 2 open dates they now had with a game at Western Connecticut on Nov. 21st and a game at Skidmore on Nov. 24th.

In early November Buffalo State learned that Pine Manor's Men's Basketball program was now an accepted D3 program and on November 4th, the Coles Classic tournament that had been cancelled, was re-scheduled. Plattsburgh was asked to once again participate but couldn't because of commitments made to Western Conn. and Skidmore. It is now a 3 team tournament with Buff State, Pine Manor and Point Park, an NAIA school.

To make a long story short...they were...they weren't....they are. ???  I will offer my congratulations now to FCGrizzlies. I can't see him losing the Winless contest. He may be co-champs with ronk who has Wilson or some other fortunate player, but if I had to wager on a winner, Grizz would be that guy.

Maybe so, but I know that Tom Hanks is still 100% behind ronk:

Undefeated: Scranton
Winless: Wilson

What region is Wilson in? I know they are in Pennslyvania and in the NEAC but couldn't find them in any region. Are all the NEAC teams going to be in the East Region? That's what KnightSlappy said over on the Conference Changes board back in September but the D3hoops Region breakdown doesn't show them all in the East. Right now D3hoops is showing 6 NEAC teams in the East and 4 NEAC teams in the Middle Atlantic. The other 3 teams..Wilson, Bryn Athyn, and Pennslyvania College of Technology aren't listed in any region. Maybe because Bryn Athyn and Pennslyvania College will be 1st year provisional members next year they aren't listed this year...but Wilson should be in some region.
I see that  the Landmark is now all in the Middle Atlantic instead of multiple regions and the same goes for the CAC but the NEAC changes haven't been made. What's up with that Pat?

At any rate, I think you may have the winner ronk. This is a first year program with almost no height to speak of. Unless they get ahold of the absent minded professor's formula for flubber they're in for a long season.

That's one of those things you should email me about rather than hope I visit a particular message board page.

So, I've been told this was not the ideal year to take the homer flier on an undefeated pick.  I think the early schedule is bad enough, I'm sticking with it, but I could also be eliminated immediately.

Cancel my Purchase undefeated pick.  That schedule early in November is brutal.  Sure it's a bunch of cupcakes after that but from November 15 when they play Colby (underrated last year) to Cabrini & Catholic at the hoopsville tournament, that scheduled is loaded with minefields...

...instead I'll take the homer pick of Western Connecticut.  Sure, they will definitely lose @ Albertus, but that's not till December 15.  They do play Plattsburgh, but it's at home, and if they can get through that game with a W, they SHOULD be unbeaten until December 15 (vs. TCNJ, vs. USM, vs. Pine Manor, vs. Vassar, @ Framingham @ Worcester are the other 6 games preceded the AMC game).

So, my new picks:

Undefeated: Western Connecticut

Winless: Knox (if Pine Manor is eligible), Blackburn if Pine Manor isn't.

Pine Manor is a full Division III member institution playing men's basketball this year. Completely eligible.

Is it too late for me to select Oberlin as my unbeaten team?  ;D

I know I was alive the last time Oberlin beat Wittenberg. I was 13 in February of 1979...
