Greek Tragedy

I wasn't going Albertus Magnus with that game against Babson. However, I was gonna go St. Norbert. Now I have some thinking to do.

Didn't expect either one of these teams to still be available so I'll take them.

Undefeated: Amherst
Winless: Franciscan(Ohio)

Undefeated: Christopher Newport

Winless: Washington and Jefferson

Stevens Point should be infinitely better than last year, but I still don't see them beating CNU. Marietta should be a battle, but CNU should be favored and win that game.

Bsides, it's a win-win situation. IF they beat Point, I'm still alive in the pool. If Point wins, well then, Point wins!

I didn't take Albertus Magnus because they play Babson early. It's one thing beating up on fellow GNACers, but another topping Babson.

I didn't want Babson because they play Tufts and Amherst early.

I didn't want Amherst because of the Babson game.

I amlost took Tufts since they don't play Amherst until February, but they play Babson at the beginning of December.

I was in bed by 9:30 central time, woke up later to post my disappointment that St. Norbert was taken. OH well. It happens.

So, I'm going out on a limb here and take Swarthmore.  They bring back basically their whole starting five, losing only two rotation players and getting Chris Bourne back, their best player, who went out with injury in game 13 last year.  Plus, they went on a Europe trip this summer, so the rust should be less.  The schedule is pretty easy early on - with only a home game against a re-calibrating Dickinson and potential matchup with Roanoke in the championship game of a home holiday tournament.

It's not necessarily an easy road, but its not super difficult and they've got the team to do it.  This will be the third straight year with this starting five, a great coach, and some real winning experience.

Whitman is taken. You can also have them, but you won't be as cool as augie77 if they win the pool.

I'll repeat my choices from last year:

Undefeated - Scranton

Winless - Wilson   It may come down to the loser of Wilson-St. Elizabeth

Nope, St. Elizabeth plays a ton of terrible non-d3 teams.  They'll get several wins, I suspect.

Ouch.. I'm afraid Hoops fan is right... I didn't notice that the D3 hoops sched is missing a couple of games on St. Elizabeth's schedule... notably the King's College  (NYC, not Pa.) and Pratt... King's is St. liz's opener... I'm no longer confident in my selection, but won't change now... :( :(
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Greek Tragedy

FC Grizzlies may want to change his Albertus Magnus pick. Sounds like Shontaey Lovell is no longer with the team.
