I'm sure that Medaille game was rigged or something.

The CCNY women I'm watching with interest, much like this boys' HS team in Indiana from Cannelton. They have 13 in the program, and last year they lost their top 7 players from a 2-19 team.

They're 0-5 and have been outscored 393-111. But they have a winnable game against New Harmony, Friday, who lost their last game to Tecumseh 64-15.

OK, enough with that.

OK so our current leader is Cal Tech at 0-29 since winning the first game last year against what I believe was a junior high squad from Bangalore.

My apologies to Medaille and way to win an actual d3 game.

Caltech must also have the longest d3 only losing streak at 0-70 (and I could only find records back through the 2002-2003 season).

If anyone has further info, it would be interesting to know the last time they beat a d3 opponent.

But before you say it, we all know they are the champions of SAT scores, IQ points and top-secret government clearences.

The team they beat last year, Life Pacific, went 13-10! They are an NCCAA school.

I found these season records in the old SCIAC web site:

1996-97 3-17 - No info
1997-98 2-21 - They beat Cooper Union and Life Bible (started 2-0!)
1998-99 2-21 - They beat Life Bible and American Indian
1999-00 1-24 - I couldn't access that page
2000-01 2-20 - They beat Life Bible twice
2001-02 2-20 - They beat Cooper Union and Life Bible
2002-03 1-23 - They beat Cooper Union

Old School - Hope has a game at Trinity (Ill - NAIA D2) on Tuesday as well.

Note: That's Trinity Christian College that will be playing Hope on Tuesday, not Trinity International University. Both TCC and TIU are NAIA-2 schools that play in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. I'd hate to see people go to north suburban Deerfield to watch a game that's actually going on in south suburban Palos Heights.

So basically you're telling me there is a good chance Caltech has never actually beaten a Division III school in men's basketball?

Not since the mid 90's, and who knows before then. Does Caltech have a media guide?

I couldn't find one but this is on their website:

QuoteThe 2005-06 Caltech men's basketball season promises to be one of great challenge and opportunity. The blend of experienced players and capable newcomers encourages a guarded optimism as the Techers seek an NCAA Division III win for the first time since the 1994-95 season and a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) victory since 1984-85.

Here is their site:  http://www.athletics.caltech.edu/sports/mbb/mbb.html

Well, there you go. They do have a nice size roster of 16.

Oberlin only dressed eight against Wabash.

If we're including women's teams, I don't see Macalaster winning anytime soon.  They're 0-for and have been outscored 310-112 and have scored over 30 points just once.

Anyone know why York's game was postponed - snowstorm?

No other relevant games as far as I noticed, though overall unbeatens, Carroll remains (I noticed because their 'victim' was Carthage) - any drop-outs in the unbeaten ranks?

So Maryville (TN) will go 32-0 and win the national championship? Bold declaration. I like your style, Spencer.  ;)

I can think of a whole chat board of green giants on this site which would take offense to that! ::)

It's different with Maryville (TN). Here's a team that isn't ranked and doesn't appear to be on anyone's radar, representing a program that plays in half a conference, within a region that never gets any love ... a program that has made a living out of being the most respectable member of Pool B, which is a lot like being the only cast member of Blue Collar TV who can identify which one is the salad fork.

Maryville (TN) is a March perennial, but the Scots have only made it as far as the Elite Eight once before (1992). I have no doubt that they will once again be the bully in their too-small-to-matter playpen, the GSAC, but who is going to bank on them doing anything in the big dance? Why, Spencer, apparently. He's got them going all the way to a 32-0 record and a date with the Walnut and Bronze doorstop on March 18 in Salem. I don't care how crazy he is, you gotta love that kind of moxie.
