Mr. Ypsi

OMG: If Unity 'continue to steadily improve', how bad were they a few years ago! ;)

David Collinge

I think we should cut them some slack;  after all, it's tough to play hoops in Birkenstocks and hemp jerseys.   :)

Unity was 8-14 last year, believe it or not. They must have played the directonal Maine Tech schools three times each, though.

Schreiner Mountaineers take advantage of their schedule and defeat Austin College.  They leave the ranks of the winless!

As I mentioned someplace else, for reasons like this I've been inspired to change my avatar and signature.   :D

Coach C

Yes that may be wise, though i am not sure where we should begin to look, or exactly how many years we should expect the seacrch to take.

And after the season, presumably, they smoke their jerseys?

But it's purely for medicinal purposes... (to help them forget about losing by 50 to ME-Presque Isle?)

No, it's to help them forget about the fact that they're in Maine.

BTW, is it true that Unity has the only solar-powered scoreboard in intercollegiate basketball?

First of all, DC, karma points solely for the new avatar.  Second, there is no Western Maine CC because there aren't any actual communities in Western Maine, yes a few random homes, but they aren't close enough together to be called a community.

And lastly, in the words of Woody Harrelson (on Letterman) "You would have to smoke a joint the size of a telephone pole to get high on hemp... (long dramatic pause)... and boy was that a good weekend."

Looks like I've unleashed a real fan club for Unity  -  I wish they were D3 so we could have access to them regularly through these pages - well anyone seeing their scores etc, PLEASE report to us here - I think they merit the same kind of cult following as the CCNY ladies team - and this is the place for it!!!!

Amongst our D3 undefeated winless and undefeated, there was limited activity the last several days - last night Westminster Mo and Cornell Iowa EASILY stayed winless, but we did have a quirk.  Ferrum beat D2 Davis &Elkins last night for the 2nd time this year, and they also beat USCAA member So Virginia, but they are 0-4, winless, vs D3.

Large number of games today for our perfect group ...you'll see all the results here tomorrow

Two more undefeated teams are no longer, Carroll and Maryville (TN) lost tonight.

hopefan

15 teams started undefeated last night  -  only 3 played, but 2 lost.  Carroll goes down to UW Oshkosh, 70-69, and Maryville Tn loses to Averett, 73-70.
IWU breezes by IC
Undefeated teams remaining are 13:
Hamilton,   NYU,  Widener,  Amherst,  WPI,  IWU,  Auggie,  North Central,  Lawrence,  Hamp-syd,  Hope,  Wooster,  and CMU

Undefeated vs D3 teams only, also took a hit last night when Alvernia lost to Albright.  This group is reduced to 10:
Bluffton, Franklin, Nebraska Wesleyan (who have really been taking their lumps in NAIA competition), Geo Fox, Occidental (nice win over Chapman last night), Wartburg, Puget Sound, Albion, Calvin, and Fisk.
