In the last several days, only two teams have dropped off our perfect lists - and that happened in the same game.   When LaVerne nipped George Fox, LaVerne got off the winless vs D3 list, and Geo Fox was bounced from the undefeated vs d3 list.  All other teams maintained their spots.

Undefeated teams remaining are 13:
Hamilton,   NYU,  Widener,  Amherst,  WPI,  IWU,  Auggie,  North Central,  Lawrence,  Hamp-syd,  Hope,  Wooster,  and CMU

Undefeated vs D3 teams only is reduced to 9:
Bluffton, Franklin, Nebraska Wesleyan ,  Occidental , Wartburg, Puget Sound, Albion, Calvin, and Fisk.

Winless teams are now at 14:
Goucher, Swarthmore, Chestnut Hill, John Jay, East Naz, Albertus Pujols Magnus (my favorite as a St Louisan), Daniel Webster, Oberlin, Thomas More, Cornell, Pac Lutheran, Caltech, Northland, and Principia.

The winless vs D3 list is now at 13:
Maine Presque Isle, Maine Maritime, Rutgers Camden, Immaculata, Ferrum, Thiel, Redlands, Santa Cruz, Linfield, Fontbonne, Greenville, Webster, and Marantha
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

IWU beats #5 Puget Sound 104-87.

With Wooster's loss, we're down to the Final Four!

Well the dust has settled from all the Christmas Tournament activity, and here is how our perfect record teams stand....   drum roll please!!!  (I know you guys have been waiting with baited breath!!!!)

Undefeated teams drop from 13 to 11 with Woo's loss to BW and Auggie losing to Stout
Undefeated teams remaining are 11:
Hamilton,   NYU,  Widener,  Amherst,  WPI,  IWU,  North Central,  Lawrence,  Hamp-syd,  Hope,  and CMU

Undefeated teams vs D3 only dropfrom 9 to 5;  victims were Puget Sound losing to IWU, Franklin losing to North Central, Nebraska wez losing to Whitworth, and Fisk losing to SUNY Farmingdale
Undefeated vs D3 teams only is at 5:
Bluffton,  Occidental , Wartburg, Albion, and Calvin.

Winless teams stayed status quo, except for the big NEW YEAR's EVE battle of Cornell vs Caltech.  After nearly shocking the winless world by coming within one of Rivier the night before, Caltech returned to form against previously winless Cornell, losing by 37.  Poor Cornell never knew what hit 'em and are eliminated from our list.  Pac Lutheran also got off the list by beating W&J.
Winless teams are now at 12:
Goucher, Swarthmore, Chestnut Hill, John Jay, East Naz, Albertus Pujols Magnus (my favorite as a St Louisan), Daniel Webster, Oberlin, Thomas More, Caltech, Northland, and Principia.

Winless teams vs D3 only lost only one pretender when Linfield beat Elmira.
The winless vs D3 list is now at 12:
Maine Presque Isle, Maine Maritime, Rutgers Camden, Immaculata, Ferrum, Thiel, Redlands, Santa Cruz, Fontbonne, Greenville, Webster, and Marantha

Hopefan, you have a real assortment of characters in the "winless vs. D3 group"!

Among others, Rutgers-Camden, Provisional-Maine Presque Isle, the northeasternmost outpost in the NCAA  (go look for Presque Isle on the map), first-year Immaculata, Ferrum, Thiel and Linfield  whose better athletes seem to be playing football  ;), the SLIAC 3 and hopefully the Gorloks will win one in conference, and finally UC Banana Slug! :D

hopefan

Ralph, As I have been one of the main SLIAC posters, let me guarantee you that Webster will definitely come off the list after a couple of games in conference.  They have played a difficult schedule, and while I've seen a couple of woeful performances by them against Wash U and Transy, I also saw them take Hanover to ot.  They actually have a very good shot at making the four team conference playoff.  Only Maryville seems to have distinguished themselves beyond the pack, while Principia, on the winless list, is a good bet to challenge Caltech and others to remain on the winless list all season.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I'd say we should pit Oberlin, Caltech, Principia and Albertus VO-5 Mangus in a tourney, loser take all!

Greenville travels to Wabash on Tuesday. Now, I'm not saying that it'll be a blowout, but on paper its a mismatch. Did the best player for Greenville quit after they beat the Chiropractic team?

A minor correction...the Lord Jeff/Sagehen game is a neutral site game (at Occidental, as part of the Oxy Classic), not at Pomona.

Greek Tragedy

DC,

Oh well.  Blame Pat. lol.  On the Amherst team link, it has it AT PP and also on the schedule link, it's listed as an away game with no * being on a neutral site.  Obviously no big deal, apparently. :-)

I think the schools are responsible for uploading their own schedules, so I blame either P-P or Amherst, rather than Pat.  But maybe I'm just blinded by the thrill of my FREE KARMA POINT!  :D

I wouldn't have mentioned it, but Oxy is a long way from Pomona in LA terms.  It's a miserable day here, as it's been raining since last night.  I'd expect the Sagehens fans would stay home, and I'd further expect the Oxy fans in attendance to be rooting against Pomona.  No matter how you slice it, it ain't a home game.

Mr. Ypsi

Well, I say GO P-P and/or Oxy - let's get this thing down to the 'THRILLING THREE'!  (On the other hand, I kinda enjoy the West Coast whining about lack of respect!)

With NCC@IWU and CMU@NYU this week, the ranks have to shrink.  I suspect NYU will have already fallen to Rochester; in which case I'll root for NYU.

At 10 undefeateds, I suppose it is already not THAT hard to follow, but let's reduce it to 4-5 ASAP! ;)

hugenerd

Looks like you can cheer for CMU now, I am not positive but it looks like they lost to Bluffton tonight 96-83.
