...Ralph, the NCAA really needs to make SOS a consideration. They know how to do it, the RPI that the D-1 tourney uses is a pretty decent tool, especially since it rewards teams for winning on the road and penalizes teams for loading up on cupcakes at home. ...

Smed, the legislative proposal was withdrawn before it could recieve a vote.  I was told, by a source that I believe, that the thinking was not to "hand-tie" the NCAA on this issue.

I believe that it will be sent back to committee for re-evaluation.  Any change of this policy would likely be implemented across all sports.  I will bet the competition gets the Holiday proposal and the QOWI and they get "tweaked" as suggested by Roanoke's Page Moir on Hoopsville last Tuesday night.

[NEVER MIND, I see that the posting of the 'winless against d3' was just a typo - they are actually 392 on the original bottom ten!]

Be nice, I'm on cold medication today.  :P

What was that 'tweak' that was suggested? I was watching Indiana beat Illinois (thank goodness!) and then Notre Dame's women on CSTV.

And you know, some of the elite D-1 snobs who look down on D-3 can just point to some of those D-3 teams in their neighborhood (and teams like John Jay, Hunter, CCNY, etc. in NYC). Sigh.

Didn't Fawn Leibowitz go to Green Mountain??  ;D

She did but when the Green Mountain dropped the ceramics program she transferred to a school near Faber College.

Her friends still don't see what Dawn saw in that guy.   EWWWWWWWWWWW!

Well, they still have Carroll both home and away plus @Grinnell - I'm gonna say they lose at least ONE of those games (best odds - at Carroll).

Well the Atlantic region is basically the NJAC and a couple of other teams of the moment from the Skyland and the CUNY.  It is worth remembering that the CUNY teams have a very high transfer rate and are primarily commuter schools.

Oh, we all know that - but some people don't know that and cast aspersions at the lot of D-3 based on their neighborhood.

There are some D-1 'commuter' schools as well that have a pretty high turnover rate, especially now since the 5/8 rule was lifted.

And Green Mountain gets pasted by Ithaca 96-47

That Adam Fisher kid scored 30 points, had 13 boards and the only 3 assists for Green Mountain.

And he's from FLORIDA??? What is he doing there?

And how bad would they be without him??

smed, I think that the "tweaking" will be the careful study and the analysis of the impact of "In-region" on Pool B and Pool C bids.

I also think that the "Conference SOS/QOWI" will be sent to something like the Championship Committee that will be brought back to the NCAA.

Of course, any change in the Pools must be evaluated across all sports.  We just rant about football and basketball.

Emily Dickinson College. Stay away from the kilns if you ever visit the campus.

I wouldn't rule out the return leg to Ripon though.  One of those "throw out the records" conference rival games.
