Lawrence plays at St. Norb's.  They should win that.  The Green Knights are 3-10 and 1-5 in the MWC.

Hey now...i'm knocking on wood for you, but such lapses of supersticious judgement should be avoided at all costs in the future...

ok Smed, end of the day, let's take a look at the weekend for our wretched

Caltech has Claremont Mudd at home   -  last year, Cal actually gave them a game at home, losing by 12.  They'll be happy to lose each half by 12 this year
CMS by 28

Daniel Webster goes to Suffolk  - - let's see, suffolk beat Albertus by 40, Albertus beat Danny boy by 36....
Suffolk by 38

Oberlin home vs Earlham  -  until Oberlin lost by 25 to Allegheny, they had been playing close vs other mid level teams - there's a remote possibility here, but the swami says Earlham by 24

Principia at Webster - in my back yard - it won't be close, but the Webster coach is a good guy and won't run the score up    Webster by 30

Green Mountain doesn't play, but they lost to Lyndon State, 92 - 49 last night.

And for our winless vs d3....
Ferrum has Christopher Newport and Shenandoah at home - GONE -  At home, Ferrum has a real chance against either.

Immaculata at Eastern - IC has come close in league several times and will get a D3 win this season, but not at Eastern

Marantha has Edgewood at home  -  Edgewood seems to be inconsistent this season, and has had some close games against some bad teams.  But Marantha is REALLY bad.... Edgewood easily

Rutgers Camden hosts Rutgers Newark -  inpast years, both of these teams could come into this game winless, but Newark has gotten better - no hope for Camden

Thiel has W&J at home the home court advantage will help Thiel - W&J has been improving, but this game could be close.

Maine Presque Isle - playing non NCAAD3 team St Joe's Vermont.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

The Beavers' narrow loss to Pomona-Pitzer the other day (57-48; only down 3 inside of 2:00 left) has me juiced; I'm going to try to get to the game tomorrow.  I definitely want to be there when the Techsters snap that 20-year streak of losing in the SCIAC.  Could it be tomorrow?  ???

Thiel and W&J...the best athletes seem to be playing football at these schools.

St Joe VT is in the exploratory year for consideration for D3.

I'm sure Flying dutch Fan was more than happy to report that Albion - Calvin  result to the survivor page  :D :D :D

I guess kudos to Lawrence for being THE sole survivor in the entirety of college hoops after Duke, Florida and Pitt all went down.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags (10-5) stuck it to the Caltech Beavers (0-15) tonight, 59-49, in Pasadena.  The Techers have gone nearly 21 years without a SCIAC win, but they've gotten close in their last two Saturday night affairs (they were trimmed by 9 by Pomona-Pitzer last Saturday).  It looks like our Beavers are growing up and may be about to come of age.  They've got two games this week where they might get lucky: vs. LaVerne (6-7) at CMS on Wednesday, and at Whittier (6-9) next Saturday night.  Could it be a (Whittier) Poet that finally takes the Beavers where they've not been before?

Well, technically, WORD and emphasis added, but good point!  I had a similar post over on the MWC board when thevicar in his exhilaration said 'at any level' - I pointed out that my local high school team was still undefeated.  But I confess that I hadn't also thought in terms of the ladies! :-[

I'm definitely happy about the outcome, although it's always a very strange feeling to be happy about a Calvin win   ;)

Aw, let a guy be excited for once...i'm a Wyoming Cowboys fan and a Cleveland pro sports fan, so this is about as much excitement as i'm likely ever to have in the sports venue. So you know...give a guy a break.

Just funnin' on ya!

My 14-year-old sports junkie describes any good (or bad) play/game/ref's call/etc. as the best EVER (or worst EVER).  I find it sometimes annoying, but usually amusing.  This NFL season alone I believe 5 different QBs have been the best EVER, and, of course as a frustrated Lions fan, they have on numerous occasions (whether team, coach, QB, OL, receiver, etc.) been the worst EVER.  In one game, after he missed his second potential game-winning FG (for the first time in his entire career), even Jason Hanson (Mr. Automatic) was dismissed as the WORST KICKER EVER; amazing how quickly that changed when he made the third attempt and won the game!
