the boys likely were still celebrating Saturday's win over the mariners..
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

It looks like Myers' surprise win over the 'Berg sets the whole thing up.

But I checked, and while Potomac State lists a win over WV Tech - the offical WV Tech site shows no such thing, neither is it listed on Massey.

Could that be a win over the WV Tech JV??

I checked also and it is definitely on potomac state college's schedule but absent from both wvu tech varsity and jv.  I am not sure about the game, the Potomac site clearly states when they play against a JV team in other cases but they just say WVU tech for this game.  The game is listed as on November 8 and WVU tech doesnt have any games listed until November 10, maybe it was an exhibition game?

We may have to await the Bard games later in the year.  I still think that the key breaking out of the Northeast/East will come thru the Liberty League. :)

I assume the sled dogs have yet to reach the nearest telegraph station. ;)

If the dogs run out of breath, they just might have to employ heliographs -- remember them? -- assuming the sun is shining ....  ::)

The second time around, three of Bard's starters were also not playing in their very first college game.

Just out of curiosity, how can a player not play in his "very first college game"? Kindly advise soonest ... if not sooner.

Oh Warren, you and your grammar.  Read it again, but pretend you're as dumb as the rest of us.  It'll make sense.

Sac  -  if you're still around   -    what about Alma  -  are they worse than ever   -  can they get a win in the league?  Will they get off our winless vs D3 list?

Also curious what you can tell me about Steve Hettinga - he coached at Olivet and then a GR semipro team  -  he's now down at MacMurray down here in the SLIAC and they've gotten off to a very good start after being pretty weak the last several years   -  was he successful at Olivet?

Hopefan----

I'll have to get back to you on Coach Hettinga all my juicy MIAA info is on another computer.  He had a fairly nice turnaround at Olivet.

As for Alma, I haven't seen them personally but yeah it would appear they're a solid candidate for winless.  However the MIAA is really down this year and they will have 5 or 6 real solid chances for wins, even away from home.    I have to think at some point they'll disappoint and pull a Cal Tech and grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.  They've got a couple good outside shooters and should they have a hot night you just never know.  If they get a win I think it will come at home, thats a trip thats easy to take a little lightly and be unprepared, esp. if its a long snowy drive up to Alma.

It's surprisingly easy. Every player I've seen not making his debut has done it.

If you didn't play in your first college game, then how could your very first college game be your very first college game? I'm still muchly verhoodled (and a bit long in tooth, as well, you see).

Warren, you're getting such mileage out of this that I almost hate to burst the bubble, but the sentence IS grammatically correct (and intelligible).  You're linking not only to playing, when the proper understanding is 'not' as a negation of the phrase 'playing in their very first college game' (i.e., unlike the first meeting, this time they were playing in their fifth (or whatever) game).

Or perhaps you are ALL joking about the 'misunderstanding' and I am being a boorish pedant?! :-[

"Bubble," what bubble?  ;)

"Mileage"? What mileage?  ???

"Boorish pedant"? Aren't all of us academics "boorish" and "pedantic"?  If we weren't, we'd be working on Wall Street and advising Donald Trump what to do (including how to find a better barber).  :P

And, yes, I was attempting a joke, of sorts ....  :-[
