Also a thanks to Northern Michigan for beating Point, Puget Sound for the late night shocker, and to the other picksters who still believe that a midwest, great lakes or wiac team can actually go undefeated.

Congrats sac...you know Amherst should've lost! lol  ;D.  You get credit for the "gutsy" pick...and I say that because they do always have to play Williams and with the emergence of teams like Bates, Tufts and the tradition of Trinity, the NESCAC is tough to go undefeated (even though it doesn't count since they only play each other once!)

For the record, I wouldn't pick anyone in those regions you mentioned because the conferences in those regions are so tough...and they actually play each other twice!   :P

Congrats again!  Nice job Whitworth!

Sac, I would sing you the Amherst fight song but

1) It doesn't stack up to Michigan's

and

2) I don't know it (and I'm pretty sure few of the current students do).

Thanks for the support!  :)

Congrats, Sac. Your gold-label-edition bottle of Heinz ketchup is in the mail. ;)

Thank you, I'd like to thank the committee for providing this opportunity its a lovely award and will look nice packed in a box and stored along with the rest of my stuff.

Special thanks to Williams for being down this year, you made my pick easier ;D :D ;)  Also a thanks to Northern Michigan for beating Point, Puget Sound for the late night shocker, and to the other picksters who still believe that a midwest, great lakes or wiac team can actually go undefeated.  Oh yeah and thanks to whoever beat the Violets........that would have been embarassing :D ;)

After years of futily picking midwest and great lakes teams it dawned on me.......and I went with Amherst. ;D

Actually, it didn't work out so bad just last year for whomever picked Lawrence. ;)

DID someone pick Lawrence?  Who won last year?  (Memo to sac: fame is fleeting; enjoy! ;D)

A side note, this is two years in a row that CMU has handed NYU their first loss of the season.  After a full slate of non-conference cupcakes, NYU never seems to be ready for that first UAA game of the year.

"Revenge of the Lovable Losers":

Remember just 3 weeks ago when Adrian was among our final 9 winless teams (0-8 at the time)?  They have since won 5 straight, and are tied with Hope for first place in the MIAA!  And guess where Hope plays this Wedsnesday! ;D

I'm going to try to make the game - will I see any posters there?  (I'll also post my intentions on the MIAA board, where posters are more likely to see it.)

sac

I will be there Mr Y as will FDF and Civic, possibly GoHope.  and I'm going to try and drag bulldogalum over to say hello.  Should be good.

Adrian had a D1/D2 transfer join the team in late December and haven't lost since.  Adrian can a be a tricky place to play, Hope's had a number of struggles down there.

While not all scores are yet posted (including the BIG game between winless Penn St Berks and D'youville)  as predicted, we have lost several members of our Winless and WAD3 ranks!!!

Albertus beats Dan Webster  90-81
Thomas More defeats Thiel  59-45

So at this minute, we are down to 3 winless;
Principia, who lost by double digits to Fontbonne, then got postponed vs Maryville due to icy conditions  -  incidently, as poorly as Maryville is playing, that game should be watched for upset possibilities for Prin

Penn St Berks  -  looking for that score vs Dyouville

East Naz-  who lost to New England College on Saturday.

In WAD3 activity, Green Mountain easily maintained their No 1 ranking by losing by + 20 to Mitchell.

BUT Laverne falls out  -  edging Whittier 67-63

That leaves our WAD3 list with Green Mountain, Colorado College, Huntingdon, Minnesota Morris, Crown  (weekend scores missing), and Lincoln Christian.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Pat Coleman

Berks/D'Youville is a conference game, too. You'd think that conference would have a rule on reporting scores.

NEAC is a D3Scoreboard.com conference, so its scores get posted automatically when they report to their conference.

It better be. Whenever Chuck decides that he's actually going to attend a D3 game, CNN, FoxNews, and Bloomberg all run the announcement on their crawls. :D

Really?!  I'd missed that (I imagine Foxnews runs it with the heading: terrorist threat alert ;)).

I'm holding out for Sports Center having me on to analyze the Adrian-Hope result. ;D

We lost a lot of teams off this list.  Still no word on the PSU-Berks score.

"Speaking of loveable losers, Bard played Polytechnic, and you know you're not dealing with a school that takes its sports all that seriously when it gives directions to its basketball "field":"

I guess your best bet when Bard beats someone is to run down that team instead. This sure seems more like Poly has a web guy at the school who doesn't take sports all that seriously. Their venue is actually terrific- I've been there for HVMAC tournament games, and the fans are great. I'm looking forward to playing them at their field for years to come.
