I don't need that getting around the boards.  Although it might be good for some pity karma.

That makes me feel very badly for Eastern Nazarene. It must be a terrible burden to be the only winless team in all of D3.

They have experience, if they follow the women's team.

They're no longer part of our list, but ESPN College Gameday is running a feature on Cal Tech breaking their losing streak in a few minutes.

We lose two more WAD3 teams this weekend!!!!!

Colorado College crushes The Slugs of Santa Cruz  90-68

Huntingdon stuns Fisk in OT 66-64

East Naz stays winless

Wad3 teams remaining are Lincoln Christian (who again came close to a SLIAC contender losing to Fontbonne by 5), Minnesota Morris, Crown (though Crown's Saturday score in a possible win game vs Martin Luther is not yet posted) and Green Mountain.

Crown and Minnesota Morris play next Friday  -  someone WILL win

Green Mountain has a weak Mass College team next Saturday

LCC gets youthful Maryville at home next Saturday - LCC has played close several times at home - this could be an opportunity to win
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan)

Lincoln Christian drops a nail biter to Fontbonne and stays on the list.  Crown lost by 43 to Martin Luther and are still alive.  Mn-Morris, CC and Huntingdon all win.

Raptormania!

Good luck, Cal Tech! Every win improves Bard's SOS!

Don't you think it's too early for Bard to be sending out an SOS?  They've still got some winnable games ahead.  Don't give up the ship!  ;)

Raptormaina, it's no longer called the SOS, it's called the  QOWI... or Quality of Wins Index. David obviously knew what you meant though. :P

I know I'm going to regret not going to watch CalTech again tonight, but seeing Redlands against the best team in the SCIAC is really the only way for me to gauge whether or not they've really improved this year.

It doesn't matter how many games Cal Tech wins, Bard's QoWI will be unaffected, unless they open a satellite campus within 200 miles of Pasadena and base the basketball team there.  Hmmm..Maybe Bard-Barstow?  Bard-Big Bear?  The Bard-Beverly Hills Mink Wrap-tors?  :D

A win by the Beavers would not improve Bard's QoWI, but would improve their "Strength of Schedule." SOS doesn't cease to be a legitimate concept just because the NCAA uses a different statistic.  Anyway, disregarding the regional issues, it defies explanation how a win by Cal Tech can improve Bard's "Quality of Wins Index" when Cal Tech isn't a "win" for Bard (regardless of quality.)

Pat Coleman

Well, it would be odd to call it Quality of Loss Index, but it measures that too. :)

I think that David's use of the word "win" in quotes is because, as you know, Bard and Cal Tech are in different regions, so it doesn't count as anything in the eyes of the NCAA either way.
