No, not really, I just meant to highlight the fact all regional games impact the Quality of Wins Index, even those wins that actually are losses.  ::)

Since the QoWI purports to measure not just the quality of wins, but the quality of losses as well, such as Bard's loss to Cal Tech had that been a regional game, it seems that it might better be called QoWaLI (for Wins and Losses), or maybe Quality of Schedule Index, or maybe even Strength of Schedule Index.  That makes more sense to me, but since common sense doesn't play too large a role in Indianapolis, maybe it's better just to send an SOS.  :)

According to Massey ratings using MOV, Bard's SOS is 399 out of 403. (ICK!) Only our friends in Presque Isle, Maine Maritime, Green Mountain, and Polytechnic are worse.

To illustrate how abysmal Green Mountain is - they're ranked last in Massey and have the second easiest schedule. They did beat the worst team ranked in NAIA II, in OT.

Interesting stuff. Looks like the move to the Skyline alone will boost their SOS. It's pretty clear that this Massey fellow has a pronounced anti-NEAC bias. My guess is that he was attacked by a winter storm as a child.

Nah, it's just the way the computer shakes out. No bias at all.

As you well know, computers are HEAVILY biased against the NEAC as well. Massey knows this; his adherence to computers for ranking DIII teams is merely complicity in this larger slur by computers against the conference.

UW Stevens Point drop off the unbeaten against D-III list, as well, losing at home to UW Oshkosh 72-55.

Kenneth Massey on Bard's absurdly low rating: "There's nothing I can really do to defend it."
