Tom
As much as I would like to still be alive, Cortland State got beat by Ithaca on Nov. 15
80-56. Flying Dutch Fan, Sac, and Chicago Hope Nut will have to wait till next year to claim the booby prize. I, unfortunately, have that honor this year. I was hung up between choosing as my team either Cortland St. or Ithaca. Knowing both teams returned a large number of starters from last year I figured the winner of that Nov. 15th matchup might have a chance to go on a decent roll and living in a SUNYAC city I made a semi-homer pick and chose Cortland. I should have done what "unbearable" did and waited till that game was over and then choose Ithaca. ;)

I'll take Centre...  even though they LOST their first game last year...

Risky. The Colonels will open the season at Franklin on Saturday, and the Grizzlies are supposed to be pretty good this year. Then on Tuesday the Colonels are at Maryville (TN), and Murvul is always a very tough place to earn a road win.

Whew... two wins by 2 points each and I'm still alive!!  Bodes well for me... 2 of Centre's 3 losses were in the first few games last year!

If Tom is handing out a Living On The Edge Award in the survivor pool, you're our early leader for it, PS. ;)

The Edge crumbled - Centre fell to Transy tonight.  By 2. ;)

Magicman,

I wasn't trying to pull a fast one, I just have been very busy at work and with family and I didn't get my pick in on time.  I do try to make a pick every year.  (Remember Coast Guard Academy!)  All along, I have thought that Ithaca has the horses to do what St. John Fisher did in the E8 a few years ago.

As a SUNYAC guy, as much as it pains me to say this, I was far more worried about Ithaca getting through the Rochester tournament than I was against Cortland.

If I were to win, I promise I'll split the big prize with you so there are no hard feelings.

To stay true to form, I'm also picking Oklahoma to crush Texas Tech in football.

That's not the D3 Dominican (which is located in Chicago's suburbs), for those of you who keep track of such things. Puget Sound beat Dominican (CA), which is an NAIA-2 school.

It wonders me if any of the many Dominican venues,* college and high school, bear the nickname of "Inquisitors."   ::)

There are as many Concordias as there are grains of sand on the beach.

Dominicans are more like seashells. ;)

BV lost to GAC 58-62
Yeah, I kind of doomed them by picking them.

Now I can root for Ralph's pick, my alma mater WashU (who I figured would lose to Augie). Two overtime wins and a 2-point win mean this team is living on the edge.

Greek Tragedy

Hoops Fan,

Since we picked the same team, who's your tie-breaker team?
