When I started broadcasting 5 years ago we were lucky to get half the games on the air.  Now we are webcasting, have boosted the power output of our station to cover a greater distance, and every game gets on.  Thanks to our great WRSE 88.7 FM crew.  You would be surprised how many people listen and how far away they come from.

I just wanted to apologize to the Redmen for my previous post. I never meant it to be a tip to NCC. I was just making conversation. I had seen other people on this board talking about injuries to their team and thought that was ok. It was bad judgment on my part and I feel terrible. Good luck to the Redmen on the rest of their season. Im out
It's REDMEN not RED MEN

redman04

Don't feel bad or think anything of it.  No one is judging you!
Don't stop posting here because of it!
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

Their O, while not what it was in year's past with Mr. Demma at the healm, is as multiple and blanced as any in the conference.
So go ahead and sleep on the Jays, being overlooked is a position EC has become accustomed to...the difference now is, they have the speed and the talent to do something about it.

sorry, went back a few pages to ressurrect this, but......Langhorst, following this logic your bluejays are in trouble. demma and co. scored 6 pts last year against a defense not nearly as good as the current wheaton d.

Redman- while those w inside info on their respective programs should always use caution in what they post, don't sweat it. do you think thorne and company would actually amend their game plan in any way based on information from a discusssion board?

last year folks posted on here prior to wheaton nccc about holden being out and late on friday that kniss wouldn't play. i am sure it didn't change any gameplan.

Guys this is football. I dont think red44 meant any harm at all. Dude, as a fellow redman, i did not take anything negative about what you said or believe you were giving inside info. You were just making conversation. Your heart is with the redmen and everyone knows that. Continue to post and lets drop the subject. ;D

Personally I think info about injuries are useful to the casual fan.  Just for an example (numbers and situations not related to any real situations) it might take 2 or 3 plays, but after film study and game planning, do you think that the press box/coaching staff isn't going to notice that #25 is out there instead of #37?  Personally, I know very little about any teams roster (outside of a few standouts for each team) in the CCIW other than the generic roster that is on every school's webpage.  I think it is cool to know why something may be happening such as passes to only one side (ie because of an untested corner) or continued runs up the middle (ie normal middle linebacker is sick).  However, I would keep inside information (ie 2 players fighting in practice or the reasons a player was dismissed from the team etc) under wraps.  I think if it is football related, go for it.

vikes35-

sorry this is late I was outta town a couple days...

I realize that the Augie O is a run first, run second, run third offense.  I am not saying they are inclined to pass...I am saying in my previous experience playing against them is that they occasionaly throw up the pass on play action...and as part of the Cardinal team for the last four years I saw many completions go for touchdowns or long plays becasue the threat of thier run forces the safeties up and can encourage the big play through the air.
Augie:
2003-  837 yards on 48/99 passing averaging 17 yards per catch and 11 touchdowns
2004- 599 yards on 22/61 passing averaging 27 yards per catch and 6 touchdowns

YES...they don't pass, but when they do and its completed its a big play...six touchdowns on 22 receptions is pretty decent with an average of 27 yards per catch

Not bad judgement, I would have done the same thing.  AS A FAN, it is nice to know who is playing and who isnt.  I dont think I would make the trip to Augie if both NCC and Augie were undefeated, BUT Kniss and Radtke werent playing.  It would definitely make a difference.   I remember the time I bought tickets to see the Cubs play the Giants 2 seasons ago, and when I showed up to the game, the guy in left was 5-10, 185 lbs and white.....pretty sure that wasnt Barry Bonds.

on roe, i saw him play v wheaton last year. prior to the last drive he threw 2 passes in the game. both were intended ( i think) to a wide open tight end. both would have been touchdowns because no one was within 20 yds of the reciever. problem was neither pass was within 20 yds either. he is the worst passing qb i can remember at augie. that said he runs it pretty good (ncaa record at that same game :o )

Change of subject, just wondering what people think: How will Carthage defense match up against NCC offense and vice versa? 8)

Just based on the numbers and what people are saying, Carthage's D is Solid.  Matching up with NCC's 4 different Receivers is tough.  If I remember right, Carthage plays a cover 0 (do they still play they same coverage?), so they will need to get pressure on the Kam before he gets the ball away.  Spencer and Co. can get open, they just need some time.   Impressive the way they held Augie way below their average.  I think if Kam gets time, the Cardinals will be fine.  They wont run away with it (Carthage has good spead as defense) but they should win by 14.  Defensively, NCC has not played its best ball yet, and I dont think that Carthages offense has been to impressive.  Tough to call.  It is good to be playing at home though, were we have lost 2 games in 4 years.

Wow I was out of touch for a couple of days and look at all of the posts.  Things are really picking up.  Good luck to all this weekend.

washdupcard,

Login, then click on "profile" at the top of the page. On the left side of the profile page, select "Forum Profile Information." Check where it says "I have my own pic." Then, in the field to the right, type in the entire URL where you got the picture (I think it has to be a picture off the internet and not just a file on your own computer). Then click on "Change Profile" at the bottom right of the page. Hope this is of some help.
