There is a story in today's Naperville Sun about the NCC plan to use both quarterbacks (Fanthorpe, Kniss) this season and discusses their relative strengths. It also has a sentence or two on the players who didn't return and the reasons why (Knapczyk, Palmer). However, the Naperville Sun web site is as lacking in quality as its print version and the story is currently not available so it would be futile to include the link in this message.

As soon as you get that link, I would like to see it...Thanks

I want a 50pt Wheaton victory over "the Naperville school" on Oct. 6th.

Wish granted...but after they get done with Naperville North,  I dont think they will stand a chance against the cardinals!

Thanks Mugsy.  I've been reading this board for sometime, just never participated regularly.  Finally, this year I decided to change that.

Hmmm....200 posts and I've reached the liberation of Nirvana.

Keep on  posting!!!

IWU going with sophomore Kraig Ladd (6-4/195, Shelbyville) at QB...

Thanks for the article Q.  Interesting stuff about IWU.  Does anybody know if when Ladd came in last week it was against starters or 2nd teamers?

I don't know the answer for sure, but since Coe was only up 17-6 until the last minute of the game, I would doubt that they had pulled the starters.

In chastising the special teams play, I'm suprised Eash didn't mention the 50.4 yards per kickoff return they yielded - talk about making your defense protect a short field! :o

Thanks, somehow I had missed that fact about the score until the final minute.

Can I get a few examples of when a 2 quarterback type offense prevailed in winning a championship if not in CCIW but in D3 or other major college championships...
I wouldnt classify Wheatons QB Situation last year as a 2 headed monster by any means.

Last Year Mount Union used two QB's although this years starter got the majority of the snaps in the Stagg Bowl.

I would... Ullrich received over 1/3 of the total snaps at QB and played in the 1st half of almost every game.

Thanks for the info.  I was mislead by the stats but if you multiply Ulrichs by 3, they are actually really close to chupps.

I guess I am trying to determine if it is going to be a benefit to Kniss or Fanthorpe to not have the majority of the snaps.   It will be interesting week 2 preparation as I dont feel Thorne really wants 2 QB's leading the pack.  He is very good however at conforming to his teams strengths so we may see it longer than anticipated if it is good for the team

I think Mt. Union has gone with 2 QB rotation more than once.  As noted above, they definitely did last year.
