If you have reasonable internet connectivity (DSL or cable), you might want to check out the WETN video broadcasts.  At least you can kinda see the games live that way...

This is how I watch the games.  The trip from Michigan is a bit lengthly for other than special occaisions. They only have video broadcasts at home games.  The picture is definitely not perfect, but you can see everything pretty clearly if you have enough modem speed (I have a cable modem).  Also, the commentary is direct from the WETN radio so you do have a "student broadcaster" issue now and again.  I've found that if you print out the roster from the Wheaton website, you can pretty much refer to the jersey numbers and see who is doing what.  FYI, Studebaker is 90, Ittersagen is 12.

Being a Cardinal fan, I believe Wheaton has the upper hand this week.   Anybody have a line they want to set?  I would open with Wheaton -14.5

If you get a chance, check out the Daily Dose Podcast.  It is a great review on the national scale from Pat and Keith.  This weeks Little Brass Bell game gets some press at the end of the podcast.  Definitely worth 13 min 13 sec of your life.

Being a rivalry game, the fact that it is in Naperville, and the fact that Wheaton has typically started slow in their games this year I would set it at Wheaton -10.5.

Thanks guys, I didn't realize they had video available over the web.  A few years ago I tried to listen to the audio but with mixed results - very spotty, in and out.

I had to laugh at the reference to the Wheaton Jumbotron being "fully operational" for the Augie game.  Just watched the original Star Wars with my 6 year-old this weekend and the image that phrase ("fully operational") brought to mind was the Death Star battle station operated by Darth Vader and the powerful evil empire.  Given how some non-Wheaton posters seem to feel about our alma mater, it seemed apt.  Although when I played (early 90's) it was still Augie who was the evil empire.

This is a sucker bet. I would put this spread at less than 7 for sure. Wheaton has a new qb, in naperville under lights, bell game. it's going to be closer than anyone thinks in my view.

I would have to disagree with you there Usee.  I have seen both teams play and this a dominant Wheaton team who is playing well.  I do not see us moving the ball on Wheatons D.  We are way to one-dimensional.

I have seen plenty of sucker bets, this is not one of them.

If you would like to take NC +6  (less then 7 points, like you said)  I will gladly do that with you.

That being said...I would really like NC to win this game and next week be talking about a CCIW championship because we looked 10 times better in week 5 than we did in weeks 3 and 4.

Whew, feeling better already!  Usee is usually on the mark about the Bell game.  :)

Here's hoping that:
-Kniss/Fanthorpe come up with their best effort to date.
-Team is healthy.
-NCC is able to run the football effectively.
-Studebaker decides to run the marathon with Mugsy instead of playing football on Saturday!

If he does, then maybe he can carry me the last 6 miles.   :-\

I'm going to suggest to the administration at North Park that they consider having Homecoming next year on a weekend when all the athletic teams are "on the road" - this past weekend NPU lost in men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball and once again were embarrassed in football.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

Couple of thoughts about this upcoming weekend's games.
Elmhurst vs. Augie  I think the pressure is really on Augie coming off an unexpected loss at IWU.  Elmhurst has played Augie close the last 2 years and really made life difficult for the Vikings.    The 2007 Bluejays are a little better on defense and I look for them to really plug up the gaps forcing Augie to throw the ball more than they would like.
This year I don't have the feeling "Oh gosh, what's the score going to be?" going out to Rock Island, as I feel pretty confident that if Elmhurst plays how they can play,  they will have a great shot.
NC/Wheaton- Well as we all know this is a great rivalry and usually you can throw all the stats, records, history, out the window when arch rivals collide.  I think Wheaton wins this one late in the 4th quarter with their defense stepping up.  However- if Sulo is allowed to take control of the game the way he can,  I would give the edge to NC.  Right now I see it at 24-10 Wheaton.
In all honesty, the conference is wide open right now and there are 5 teams that can take the crown if they put together a nice run.

Dennis, I thought that the NPU administration scheduled Homecoming based upon your availability to play the bass drum in the pep band. ;)

(Say what you will about Dennis, he can certainly keep the beat for "Land of 1000 Dances".)
