TAA Last year you were calling for Coach Johnsons head, when in truth Lindmark was the offensive head.  I think that was the big change in coaching.

Pat, do you think the odds are high that the CCIW may only get 1 team in this year if Wheaton wins out and grabs the AQ?  NC's loss to WashU hurts and IWU has already lost a couple of games etc. -M

Obviously, I'm not Pat (for which he is no doubt eternally grateful! ;D), but I would say that if Wheaton wins out the CCIW will only get one team.  That would mean a third loss for IWU (and if they don't get the third loss, they win the AQ) - their chances of a C are flatout zero.  If NCC wins out but does not get the AQ, their chances are not zero, but (IMO) vanishingly small - there are simply too many one-loss teams out there (and probably at least a handful of two-loss teams ahead of them).

That's not entirely true now is it Mr. Ypsi?  :o

Hope all had a safe and happy Halloween.  I was in charge of passing out the candy.  There were a lot of football players  and I was disappointed to see a lot of Packers/Rams/Lions/Patriots jerseys.  Where are the young generation BEARS fans?

Those are the kids who were hurt and couldn't suit up for trick-or-treating.

Actually, yes it is.  They already have two losses, so not losing a third would mean they beat both NCC and Wheaton - which would leave them solo champs at 7-0.

I like the sound of that! ;D

Looking at the regional rankings, my projections for the North pairings look like this:

8. Concordia/Hope
at 1. Mount Union

5. Franklin
at 4. Case Western Reserve

6. Mt. St. Joseph
at 3. Wabash

7. Concordia/Hope
at 2. Wheaton

I know Lakeland could take Concordia's place if the Falcons slip up against Benedictine. If Hope loses to Olivet, then the MIAA could end in a three-way tie. Capital might overtake Mt. St. Joseph for the at-large spot with a win over Baldwin-Wallace in the season finale. Case Western Reserve has to get past Washington this week.

Not saying it can't happen, but that would be quite a slip.

Hey don't sweat the Patriots jerseys, those kids just want to represent "the best of the best of the best sir."  (movie?)  Also for those of us out East it is still a bitter pill to swallow from a certain football game in January of 86 with the Pats and Bears
We will always be REDMEN

With all the Patriot's success so far this century I think that bitter pill cured the ills. ;D

Jaybird, You will have to bring home a VICTORY this week for me. I will miss my first game of the year this week. I have to go to St. Petes Beach FL. and Golf, eat to much and drink to much for 5 days. ;) ;) ;). Good luck to all the CCIW teams this week and safe travels to all.

IWU (Greenie Weenies) vs. NCC "Cardinals" "Color Analogy"

Life and Renewal: Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, renewal, health, and environment. On the flip side, green is jealousy or envy (green-eyed monster) and inexperience.

Nature of Green: Green is a restful color with some of the same calming attributes of blue. Like blue, time moves faster in a green room.
Culture of Green: Green is the national color of Ireland and is strongly associated with that country. Green also has close associations with Islam. Because of all the green in nature the color is reminiscent of Spring. Coupled with red it's a Christmas color.

Good green
•   Green light - go, permission to proceed (with a task)
•   The green room - in theater or televisions it is the room where performers and guests go to relax
•   Green thumb - good with plants
•   Greenback - US dollar bill, money
•   Greener pastures - something newer or better (or perceived to be better), such as a new job

Bad green
•   Green-eyed monster - jealosy
•   Green with envy - jealous or envious
•   Green - inexperienced, untested, untrained
•   Greenhorn - novice, trainee, beginner
•   Green around the gills - pale, sickly

Culture of Red: Red is power, hence the red power tie for business people and the red carpet for celebrities and VIPs (very important people).

Good red
•   Red letter day - important or significant occasion
•   Red carpet treatment - make someone feel special, treat them as if they are a celebrity
•   Roll out the red carpet - same as above
•   Red sky in the morning, sailor's warning; red sky at night, sailor's delight - pay attention to good and bad warning signs
•   Paint the town red - celebrate, go out partying
•   Red eye - an overnight flight

Bad red
•   Seeing red - to be angry
•   Red herring - something that deceives or distracts attention from the truth
•   In the red - being overdrawn at the bank or losing money
•   Red flag - denotes danger, warning, or an impending battle

WHO'S GONNA WIN THIS ONE?????????

Good Triple take in today's Daily Dose.  Some publicity for the CCIW, and there are some good inside joke references from the message boards.
