Congratulations to the Cardinals who proved that until that final whistle blows anything/everything can happen. Way to never give up that hope.
While UWW is a great stalwart and on paper should really have an edge, I don't think this is going to be a runaway.  North Central has showed they have been able to shut down big time offenses over the last 2 years, so I think NC will be able to at least hold their own.  Perkins Stadium is definitely a great venue and I encourage all NC/CCIW fans to make the trip up there.

I think it will be an interesting matchup with NCC's potent O vs. UWW's ball-hawking D...

hello to all, just wondering what UWW can expect from NCC next game..

White jerseys with red letters. white pants, white helmets with red letters.

a lot of white and some red.

...and oddly enough, that dark brown stuff on the back of their pristine, white jerseys that makes reading those red letters numbers difficult will be the Perk's famous mud the NCC players earn from spending so much time on their backs.  ;)  :D  ;D

Good luck to the NCC team and all their fans making the trip to Whitewater.

yep. I sent coach Thorne an email today and suggested they don't show up for the game. Maybe he will take my advice.

Sarcasm towards BoBo I would hope?

usee? sarcasm?  Never... ::)

definately not my style.  :-*

Usee,

I think you mean DEFINITELY.

There sure is a lot of NCC talk on the WIAC side (West Region).  They think NCC shouldn't even bother showing up on Saturday!  Come on CCIW fans, show your support for your representative in this game!

GO CARDS!  REFUSE TO LOSE!!!

The rhetoric has been amazing.

I think North Central should get 7 points for showing up. And they should get 7 more if they are foolish enough to come back in the second half (so that WW can finish the beating).

Only a few are really cocky about the game and it won't be the team or coaches.  Most of us know that anyone playing in the 12th week is not a pretender.  But, that said, it doesn't help the CCIW's rep in the WIAC when they all refuse to pick up the phone when WIAC teams call to schedule non-conference games.  Especially UWW which is a very reasonable bus ride away from most of your schools.

I seriously doubt that "all" CCIW schools "refuse to pick up the phone".  I could see a couple of reasons for not wanting to schedule a WIAC school.  One is that the CCIW teams beat on each other enough through the regular season schedule.  The other is the disparity in the CCIW schools and the WIAC schools.  WIAC schools are considerably larger in enrollment, cost considerably less to attend and don't have the same academic restrictions for admissions that most CCIW schools have.  That causes a significant advantage I would think, but that is just my opinion.

Ya, I have heard all the arguements before and there are just as many on the other side of the equation.  Didn't mean to drag up the ole' private vs. public school debate.  But those arguements don't stop other private schools from scheduling the WIAC.  St. Norberts did a home/home a few years ago with UWW, so did Lakeland and Lakeland actually scheduled 2 WIAC schools this year!  The more expensive arguement really doesn't hold water with me.  I am familiar with the academic money, (wink-wink,) thing that happens often.  State schools are financially restricted.  Just making the point about how this all impacts the, "they must be scared," mentality of many in the WIAC.

:D +K for the academic money(wink-wink) comment!  I don't know what you mean!  :-X ;)  I could see the scheduling of WIAC teams for St. Norberts and Lakeland, as they play in weaker conferences and probably needed to toughen up their non-conference schedules because of the lack of a strong conference.  They can afford to lose a game or two out of conference and still win their league and AQ.  I wouldn't mind seeing North Central schedule a WIAC school.  We have added an OAC school to the schedule in the coming years which will definitely be an upgrade over previous opponents early in the year.  This week is a huge measuring stick for the program.  Here's hoping that we play a great game on Saturday!

Oh, and you are right.  I shouldn't have said, "all."  Should have said most. Augie is willing to play UW-Platteville.

Last I heard, UWW still hasn't been able to schedule a non-conference game for next season yet.  ;) ;D

For just one CCIW school, next season North Central plays Olivet, Benedictine, and Ohio Northern.

Benedictine is located one mile from NCC and is a natural rival. Can't really dispute that one too much.

Ohio Northern (OAC) and Olivet (MIAA ) are schools in the same region as NCC. Olivet was a playoff team this season and ONU was 7-3.

This season they played Concordia of Wisconsin, also a playoff team (and in the same region), and Washington University who was contending for a Pool B spot until the last two (three?) weeks.

It's not like NCC is putting together a weak non-conference schedule. The program has been upgrading its non-conference schedule in recent years. Maybe NCC can play UWW during the season sometime. But the schedule is full for the next two years, so it can't happen until 2010 at the earliest.
