One of the Illinois College HFB coaching applicants interviewed yesterday and found out who the other 4 candidates were. He mentioned that the OC from Carthage was a very strong candidate. Has any of the Carthage folks heard this. If true they could lose both coordinators. Have they replaced the DC who went to CUW? Thanks and good luck to all the CCIW teams this year.

Hello all, I havn't posted in a while but I couldn't resist. First of all CONGRATS to Andy for being drafted, Second of all just as I would never try and tell Pat how to run D3.com I am certainly not qualified. I also won't presume to be qualified to tell an NFL team how best to draft and develope players. Lets leave it to the professionals.

Comet... seeing that you are "only" starter status here in d3... I'm not sure if you qualify to make such a critique

Significant fundraising campaign in progress for Wheaton to continue to keep tuition as low as possible for students and to provide the best facilities possible.

$260 Million by 2010.  Whoa...  Fortunately we have usee to provide most of this.

Ok, what is a "quiet phase" of fund raising?  Is that where you send the ninjas out to "quietly" get some money?

But seriously, I couldn't find any info about how long this had been going on, but that is pretty good that it is over halfway to the goal.

Hmm... Amazing!  Both you and I were left out of "the quiet phase".  Remarkable. :P

I'm guessing the quiet phase means personal phone calls and contact with the REALLY, REALLY deep pockets.

More good news for the home town of a CCIW school with little representation on these boards.  :-\

I can neither confirm nor deny the above.

Hey, Decatur may be one of the six scariest real estate markets in the country, but at least it's within a few hours' drive of several great college bars. ;)

I was thinking studebaker might be comin into some money.

Yeah, but I heard it is mostly already committed - you got any idea what a fully-restored Studebaker goes for these days? :D

I found out today what a mid-fifth round draft pick might expect as a signing bonus, and yikes.

Here is a link that shows signing bonuses and salaries for members of the 2003 NLF Draft...

While I certainly wish Andy the best, and I'm pulling for him to make the roster like everyone else here, it's important to remember in the NFL, only the signing bonus is guaranteed.  As far as the salaries, they aren't guaranteed if you don't make the roster.  Again, I wish nothing but the best for him.  Hopefully we will all see him on Sunday this year.

On a side note, I was kinda surprised that 5th rounders made as much as they do.  I was guessing it was much lower than that.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

I bet Charles Rogers is glad he made his money up front and not based on performance and staying healthy.

Interview with Andy Studebaker on CBS Channel 2 in Chicago:

Hello all, I have been absent from posting for a while, but glad to be back

I havent read much about Wheaton's recruits but I can't imagine that publicity from Studebaker's success has hurt the Thunder.   I can imagine Wheaton North will send at least 3 or 4 players there, they always seem to be well represented

Care to share Pat?  How much has inflation affected the signing bonus compared to 2003?

The number I heard was about 10% higher than the highest amount a 2003 NFC fifth-round pick got.
