We should ask someone from Rose-Hulman, since RHIT is an associate member of the CCIW. The Engineers participate in the CCIW in two sports, men's swimming and women's swimming.

I knew that about RHIT (I calculated the "all-sports trophy" a few weeks back on the basketball board).  Don't know whether 'associate' members pay dues; and that's why I asked about 'affiliate' members.

usee, I noted the italics on pre-season and knew you were just out to tweak Greg (and/or sucker others).

I fear the insider jokes of regulars are just getting too subtle for their own good. :D

After making some inquiries, I've learned that Rose-Hulman annually gives each of the eight full member schools of the CCIW three cans of Clabber Girl baking powder as annual payment for allowing the Engineers swimmers to participate in CCIW meets.

Mr Ypsi, hehe very funny.  Yes, that reminds me of my HS where I rarely see my old high school lose.
Just glancing at the non-conference slate, I see the CCIW really has some quality competition lined up in the early going.  Should be an exciting non-conference.

Thanks for the tip, Greg.  I now have my next vacation planned.

For the in-coming freshmen down in Decatur, it is probably a similar driving distance to Hulman as it is to the bars in Champaign-Urbana and all the other locales recently highlighted by one of your more prestigious alums.

As a bonus I believe we have found the next club for you to join.   :P

Sullivan had a ton of talent.  It's too bad he didn't play in the league longer.

I am new to the CCIW.  My son will be a frosh at Carthage.  I just wanted to get that first post out of the way.  By looking at the posts, it reminds me of some of the discussions I had on the Gridiron Digest back here in Indiana.

HRM,

Let me be the first to welcome you to the CCIW board!  We will get along fine as long as you agree with everything I post and disagree with everything Mugsy posts!!    ;D

Be sure to pace yourself, MB. It looks like it's too much to take in all in one day.

As a Bills fan, I find this pretty exciting. He joins fellow former Buffalonian Scott Pethel on the Vikings staff, as the head coach was an assistant at the University of Buffalo prior to taking his present position. Sullivan also joins D-Line coach Harold Blackmon as the second NFL alumnus on the NPU coaching staff.

I'm gonna have to compare notes with Marques as to our respective favorite wings and beef-on-weck restaurants in greater Buffalo.

hearing the Lester to Elmhurst deal is all but done.   >:(

I will be very dissapointed if the Lester deal to Elmhurst goes through. No one knows how to run the 3-3-5 like Tim Lester, and at this point in the season it is going to be hard to find someone who is going to be able to come in and run it at all. Along with that the leadership and focus he brings to the team can not be matched. We still have Bill Wienke there, but he is a 4-3 guy and switching back now would do more harm than good. This could be a huge blow for the Cardinals.

NCC 2008 You make a great point that if/when Lester goes to Elmhurst,  there will be a ripple effect on both schools.  I say both because not only will NC lose a great teacher of the 3-3-5, but EC players will have to learn/adapt to Lester's style.  That's why there are always 2-sided cause/effects with every transaction.
