With that return, Ittersagen breaks Wheaton record for career punt return TDs and ties record for TD returns of all kinds.

Wheaton offense is non existent in this game.  Wheaton had the ball for just over 2 minutes in the ENTIRE 3rd quarter.

Bethel has had the ball for 29 minutes through 3 quarters to 15 minutes for Wheaton.  90 total yards for Wheaton, yet they lead 10-7.

Wheatons defense hasn't played too bad, giving up 187 yards on 52 plays - 3.7 yards per play.

Since Wheaton's offense hasn't shown up, it is on the defense and Ittersagen's punt returns to win the game.

Sean Norris has not played well.  2-9 for 12 yards and 1 INT.  I know the field conditions are horrible, but that is brutal.  Most passes haven't even been close.

Mugsy, I don't have the benefit of video, so I can't see how far off Norris is, but it sure sounds ugly. Do you think based on Norris' play and no sign of Bradley that Swider is going to stick with him no matter what?

What a game for the defense and Ittersagen! They certainly won the day.

I have been watching the video and most passes were uncatchable.  3-4 yards overthrown or way off target.  Hopefully it is just a function of weather conditions and first game jitters (against the #5 team).

Defense and special teams came through.  Nice victory.  Lots of work to do.

MANY wasted opportunities for the Cards, but a solid win against a top 20 team.

Kraig Ladd's 6th TD pass has put the Titans up 48-27 in the 4th Q.  Ladd has connected with 4 different receivers for scores - Martin Ceisel (2), Tom Almanzo (2), Rick Podkowa, and Eli Williams.  Ladd tied an Illinois Wesleyan single game record with those 6 TD passes (Lon Erickson vs North Park in 1995, Brad Forsyth vs Carroll in 1989).

Senior RB Christian Winston has gone over 100 yards again - 28 attempts for 115.

Still questions about IWU's defensive secondary - a lot of new/young guys out there.  The offense seems very dangerous though with a lot of depth and weapons.

I don't know much about Alma - they beat a bad Bluffton team 49-0 last week.  Sounds like they have a great QB and a high-scoring offense (scored 29.8 ppg last year).

Congrats Wheaties!!!  Nice win as well!!

Not bad.  CCIW 2-0 vs. top 20 teams.

Listened to the game and came away very impressed w/ NCC's defense.  Excellent effort today.  I'm guessing that red zone offense may be a talking point at practice though.   ;D  Good win for NCC.  Best of luck going forward.

IMO, its tough to gauge based on the weather conditions today.  Nonetheless, nice win for the Cards.
