CARDINAL SWARM 4 - LIFE

The thing that I always liked about Millikin that they are the Big Blue.  They are not just "regular sized" Blue (Wesley) or Cardinal (Stanford).  Also the color does not describe the actual mascot ala Green Wave (Tulane) or Purple Raiders (Mount Union).

This has probably already been stated somewhere, but is Mario Smith back for North Central yet or is he out until the playoffs?

Ok, since it seems as if most of the game talk is over here (at least for now) what is your favorite CCIW football uniform?  However, let's not just vote for your alma mater/team you regularly support.  I happen to like Millikin's.  The Big White M on the helmet is classic looking.

Favorite jersey home  Millikin  ( I love the royal blue and white)  second Augustana's home jersey (navy blue and gold looks sharp) third IWU home jerseys

Favorite away jersey  toss between Wheaton and Elmhurst away jerseys  (hard to pick with an away jersey)

Favorite helmet  1)Carthage 2) Millikin 3) IWU
least favorite helmet:  North Central's NC  I just don't care for the interlocking scheme like North Carolina  (I'm sure I'm in a minority on this one)

I'll throw in another "who's the best" type of questions:  Who has the best food at the refreshment stands?

Although not technically an actual refreshment stand, I always loved going to that barbeque pit place about a block from North Park's stadium.

I liked the old North Central helmet ala St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals.

I hate North Central's current Helmets.  The old helmets with the Cardinal Decal that wrapped around the back were much better.  I think Thorne changed the entire uniform to eliminate all remnants of the previous regime.

North Central's all white uniforms with the Cardinal Logo on them and the white helmet were pretty cool back in my day.

I like Wheaton's home Orange with Blue pants.

I also like when the Cards go All Red.

Carthage's all black uni's are also pretty cool.  I absolutely hate their new logo.

Speaking of old logos,  I liked the Elmhurst Bluejay logo that is their current emblem for "publications" sake, but not on their helmets.  I believe it was a grey helmet with a shade of blue facemasks, with the bluejay sticker.  I think that was Hoffman and Beck's era.
I too liked the old  Cardinal logo and thought that was sharp.
Still the best football uniform/helmet are the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.  Bears are better

Yes Mario is back he would have had a pic for six against Millikin, but he was wearing a club on his arm.

Favorite home unis Augie, Wheaton, IWU.  Carthage's all black ones would be #2 on my like if the still wore them on a regular basis.  I know they wore them against Augie this year.

Favorite Road unis Carthage's new road unis, Augie, EC (like their colors with white). 

Best Helmets Carthage, IWU, Millikin.  I do not like the script helmets like wheaton or augie.  If carthage changes their helmets to that stupid new "C" then they will be my last.

I'm not really sure what EC's helmets look like any more.  I always hated when they put the numbers on there (Alambama Style)

When I played at Elmhurst we had the Navy Blue facemasks and helmets with the white numbers (like Alabama).  They were so "dull" and would break after contact.
Currently, elmhurst has Navy Blue facemasks/helmet with what I refer to on the air as "The screaming bluejay decal".  It's a bluejay with a long feather stretching from the top of the Bluejay's head backwards to include an EC in speed lettering.  Kind of like a mix between the Philly Eagles and Baltimore Ravens type of scheme.
I know they aren't in our conf. but I like IBC's Eagle ala Philly.

Is there a picture of it on the website?  if not I'll see it in next weekend.  Also what station do you broadcast on.  I like listen to the stations on the way to the game.  What time do you start the pregame broadcasts?
