Fanthorpe leads them down for another TD.
24-10 w a few minutes til halftime.

Elmhurst 42, NPU 14, with about nine minutes left in the game. The silver lining in a dismal day for NPU, aside from the fact that they've slowed down the 'jays in the second half, is the emergence of a hitherto-nonexistent running game. Jacob Mueller has about 150 yards rushing thus far.

FINAL

Elmhurst 42
NPU 21

Man, I've heard some obnoxious broadcasters before, but the Elmhurst analyst takes the cake. Someone needs to sit him down and explain to him that the Bluejays haven't earned any room for arrogance. NPU is a struggling and banged-up football team with a definite shortage of talent, and everyone knows how terrible North Park's football history has been. But the glee in that guy's voice as he poked fun at the Vikings was disgusting. Show some professionalism, chump.

Around the country a couple interesting games:

Wabash 13 Witt 10 (wabash turns it over 5x but kicks a FG w 8 seconds to play for win)
John Carrol 31 Capital 17
St Johns 12 St Thomas 9 (this was a wild one. STJU took a safety w less than a minute to play. St Thomas promptly drove the ball to the stjhns 1 yd line and with 19 seconds left they fumbled the snap and the johnnies recovered for the win.

Not sure, but I think that was some prankster on the live stats - both scoreboard and the JCU website agree that the game is not until 7 pm.

That Carthage @ NCC game is interesting. Looks like both teams are shooting themselves in the foot with penalties throughout the 4th quarter.
