I saw on the previous 'drive' by Augie (3 plays, -12 yards ;)) a TEAM rushing loss of 20 yards - anyone know what that means?  (I'm now listening to WJBC, but was only doing livestats then.)

Mr. Ypsi

IWU 10, Augie 7.

The difference: Augie bounced a fg attempt off the upright; Duffy (IWU) hit the upright and banked it through!

IWU is now 19-19 for the season in the red zone (16 tds, 3 fgs).

Just returned from the NCC-Carthage game...
A few thoughts.

Carthage played extremely well on D and limited NC's offense and brought a ton of pressure.  They blitzed LB's up the middle causing fanthorpe to run for his life yet make a few plays (1st 3 quarters)
It felt like they sat back on the last few drives NC had and allowed the Cardinals to move the ball effectively.
On the defensive side of the ball, NC didnt bring as much pressure which didnt surprise me much but allowed the Redmen to move the football efficiently.

I can say confidently that Carthage can beat any team they play in the CCIW this year, no doubt.

That being said, North Central must limit dumb penalties(and penalties in general) to beat Billy Grahams school next week.
We cannot afford some of the opportunities we gave the Redmen this week to beat the house that Swider built.

Go cards!

BTW, usee, your JCU/Cap report earlier may have been someone's premonition - JCU is up 13-3 at the half (and Cap's star qb, Assman, has been knocked out).

Returning to Bloomington, Roman Hunter (IWU) had an INT for the fourth straight game, and every one of them may have saved a score.  The first 3 were in the end zone, tonite was at the 23.  Quite a streak!

Other than that, the passing games for both teams have been nearly unstoppable (though mostly short yardage).  Augie's Podulka is 10-15; Ladd and Rooney have combined for 15-23.

Augie scores on first drive of the third - they now lead 14-10.

Sorry for no details (I've only been half listening).  My impression is that IWU suddenly can't stop the rushing game, and that Podulka is now really struggling passing (his first half stats were good, but he had started out 8 for 8).

Mr. Ypsi

IWU had first and goal from the 3; Augie held 'em to a fg.  Augie 14-13 at end of 3rd.

I sure hope that false start penalty won't cost the game!

IWU still trying desperately to get it to Ceisel, though 3 other receivers have more catches and yards.  C'mon Norm, Augie is double-covering Martin - your hot receivers have got to be open!

Millkin is on the board. 27-7 w 10.55 left.

Mr. Ypsi

Roughly 10 to go, Augie in Titan territory.

It'll be 3rd and 8 at the IWU 38.
