Actually I think there is a glitch in the link right now. I'm trying to click on the East/North region and it keeps bringing up the South and the West. The link is right above the poll question though.

hiker-you are off a little in your playoff assessment. if augie wins tomorrow, they are in no matter what  happens in wheaton because they will be the AQ. if cciw wants 2 teams in the playoffs, augie wins and ncc wins v np and we will have 2.

usee

my take on the big game in rock island is simple:

ncc has the best talent in the league. however, they have trailed vs every good team in this conference and had to come from behind to win. that is the sign of a championship team. the problem with that is if you do it too many times odds are its going to hurt you eventually. if ncc gets behind i wouldn't expect more late game heroics. if ncc is to win they will have to score early and often much like they did last year v augie.

I would look at the stats for the tale of the tape but when wheaton rushes for 350 and 5.7 ypc v  a carthage d at #4 nationallly v rush (59 yd pg and 1.2 ypc) that tells me stats don't mean much. i believe home field prevails in this contest. augie by 9

Thanks Pat:
I was just too impatient when I clicked on the link. The rankings are there.

Wheaty,  NCC wasn't ranked in the top 25 to start the season and climbed the way up during the year. Mt. Union started the year at 2 or 3 and had 1 loss this year. NCC might be a better team than Mt. this year but Mt. has the respect of not losing a reg. season game for the past 10 years built into the factor that they are ranked higher than NCC in the top 10.   For Regional rankings a team that is undefeated would have a higher seed than a team with a loss.  There NCC has a better seed than Mt. Union (for now atleat), but until NCC constently beats teams like Wheaton, Carthage, and Augie (on the road) they might not get quite the respect they deserve.

As far as I am concerned the Shockers are nothing to joke about that is a fine wholesome name and something that should be practiced daily.  And excellent reference to The Holy Grail.  Now if I could only remember the air speed velocity of a swallow.  I still think NCC pulls out the conference championship.  Good for them.  It is nice to be this pumped up about your team like us REDMEN feel.

An African or European swallow?

i for one am hoping we get two teams again in the playoffs. sending ncc and augie a year after sending wheaton and carthage puts the cciw up there w any conference in the nation. we all know how good the football in this league is and those of us who have had the chance over the years to see some other conference action (particularly in the playoffs) understand how well we match up. this is a great opportunity for us.

I am a littel worried about ncc beginning to get ahead of themselves as well. as tough as it is to win in the cciw, it is tougher to win in the playoffs against the best of the best. wheaton has developed a culture of using the best teams in the country as the bar as opposed to the best teams in the conference (playing in alliance 3 yrs in a row helps understand where the bar is set). but, lets worry about that once the playoffs begin.

it is fast approaching the time in the season forour collective transformation from  xxx fan (insert your team here), to CCIW fan once the playoffs begin. an exciting time of year.

augiedogie,

I was thinking the same exact thing about Wallick. It might be easy to stop a one back offense, but what happens when you have 4 (Roe is a RB in the Wing-T)coming at you on one play and about 12 that you might have to worry about for the whole game. IF Augie gets it going early, they will be tough to stop.

Scout team:

You might want to get their even earlier than 30-45 minutes prior maybe close to an hour. The lots for the most part have been full around 12 for almost every game this year, and street parking can be risky unless you are familiar with the area. If you get there about 11:45 you might get one of the last lots spots.

GO VIKINGS!!!!

Try getting there even earlier...the Quad City Symphony has a concert tonight at the building right next to Ericson Field, so they will have rehearsal there this morning.  That is an extra 100 people/cars in the already tiny parking area.
