sounded like North Central missed some opportunities. you can't do that against a team like Augie. well, i guess on the bright side the cciw now gets 2 teams into the playoffs......assuming North Central handles it's business next weekend.

Poor special teams play(Missed FG's, Blocked Punt) and lack of a running game hurt the Cardinals. I put this on the offensive play calling, again. With the poor weather conditions, you can't possibly expect to throw the ball the way you would like. To go back into a shotgun formation from inside the 1 yard line is poor. I'll end here. Great job Augie!

i am interested in hearing from someone who was there.....was the offsides the reason the kick was blocked?

I don't know if the blocker was offsides, but the flag was thrown from the same side of the field as the blocker.

Yes, it was a first down. Time expired on the play, but since the game can't end on a defensive penalty....

I had no rooting preference for the teams themselves (Augie vs. NCC), but for the sake of the conference, I'm glad Augie won. Assuming NCC doesn't totally implode against NP, they should be a lock for a C; Pat's prediction notwithstanding, I was a LOT more nervous about a 2-loss Augie getting in (or, if Wheaton beats Augie, the Thunder loss to the Titans made me feel their chances were VERY slim).

Two teams for the CCIW AGAIN - let's make this a habit!

first-congrats to augie on a cciw championship and the AQ for the playoffs. you sealed the deal today and ensured that wheaton has no chance even if they figure out a way to win next saturday.

sounds like a great game to watch. ncc found themselves behind (int, blocked punt) much like they did v wheaton, elmhurst. what they found out today is you can't put yourself in that position too many times against good teams because you will lose. hopefully this is a great game to prep ncc for a run into the playoffs. I think we are sending our two best into the postseason.

The scoreboard reports Elmhurst 45, Millikin 35, but neither team provided a release, so I'd be interested in details. They've had a 2nd quarter score (14-0) up for about 4 hours, but no further word on Carthage-IWU. This board reported Wheaton was blowing out NP early, but nothing on the scoreboard.

Anyone got any finals (AND descriptions!) on games other than the SHOWDOWN?

It's certainly understandable that the focus was on RI, but there WERE 3 other games too!

i was at the wheaton/np game and left in the 3rd when there was a lightning delay. wheaton was up 35-0. np had turnovers that cost them. wheaton's ittersagen had a long int return for a td.

I would just like to say that the NCC team and fans were probably showed the least class i have seen in a game over the last 2 years. Last year they felt the need to chant overrated. Oh darn you beat us like once in 26 years congrats. This year when Augie celebrated the last second field goal win the fans booed and the players were gererally annoyed we were celebrating a win and conference title. I can understand that tho the game was a battle but they had multiple chances to score with Augie fubling the ball alot in the second half. But for a really good player ratkie (sorry for the spelling) he was just classless. He kept saying wait till we meet in the playoffs at their place. Well i hate to tell him they will be playing at our place before we would ever meet at theirs. To ratkie show some class it was a great game and you act like a 3 year old. Grow up.
