Redman04... what's the bet?  You want to bet the Carthage vs. Wheaton game or wait until next week for the OSU vs. Michigan game?

Or, we could go best out of 3:
11/15 - Carthage vs. wheaton
11/22 - OSU vs. Michigan
12/6 - Alabama vs. Florida

You pick.  But, there have to be points involved this time.  And, what's the price to pay if you lose?  Wanna play for the profile name again? :o

I like Best outta 3!  Profile Naming rights works for me!
How about the Masters of the Board name the Spreads?

Ok, let's do it.  Since I lost last go around, can I pick two of the three games?

Fellas, what's the spread on the Carthage vs. Wheaton game?

I think its something like Wheaton -4.

If everything stays the same and all the schools win in order of ranking, the bracket should look like:

1. Mount Union
8. Aurora

4. Trine
5. CWR

3. Wabash
6. Otterbein

2. NCC
7. Franklin

If the NCAA moves Mount Union to the East, who would move in to take their place (UW-Whitewater?) That's the question that can't easily be answered and why I think MUC  could stay in the North - if Cortland beats Ithaca.
There are an awful lot of unbeaten teams in the North

If MUC moves east (only if Ithaca beats Cortland) then likely you would see Thomas More move into the North bracket. The current problem is that you have CWR playing on the road as an udefeated team in the first round. Ithaca winning solves a lot of issues (MUC goes east, a south team can be moved-thomas more, cwr gets a home game). If that happens you could easily see Thomas More slip in as a #8 (not currently ranked) and get a door prize of a trip to Alliance in round 1. That means:

NCC v Thomas More
Wabash v Aurora
Trine v Franklin
CWR v Otterbein

Another option is to move NCC west as #1 seed and they would host St Johns or Northwestern Minn in round 1 but that bracket gets messy pretty quickly with flights and such. I don't think that is a likely scenario at all.

I think its something like Wheaton -4.

At Wheaton, I would put it closer to 8 points.

Agreed. But it's in Kenosha. (I would have said -7.5 @ Wheaton  :) )

I'll say Wheaton -6.  I still think Wheaton is pretty good regardless of the two losses and Carthage turns the ball over way too much.

I think the general rule is that the home team gets 3pts so if you are -8 at Wheaton you must be -5 in Kenosha?

I think Wheaton -5 is a good line (middle between yours and mine). Mugsy? other Cardinal fans that have seen both teams?

NCC.2008

I think that Wheaton will win this one by atleast 14 , but with Carthage having home field advantage they just might be able to keep it within one touchdown (though I doubt it). I'd put the spread at Wheaton -6.5 and see if Carthage can keep it within 1 score.

redman04

I think Wheaton @ -6.5 is a good line....
I think that it is pretty clear who each one of us will pick in the Wheaton/Carthage game, but I will let you pick.

I will give you first pick on the other two also.
(we'll use the spreads from the paper on these?)
11/22 - OSU vs. Michigan
12/6 - Alabama vs. Florida
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

It was Ohio St. Michigan.  And I don't think REDMAN04 IS MY DADDY! will ever forget who he had a bet with again!  ;D

He is a Wheatie, but roots against certain Carthage running backs, I believe.

Based on his email address and his jocular manner, I'm guessing he is a former Wheaton LB from the late 80's & early 90's.  Purely a guess...

I would agree, but I think I'm going to take Carthage with the upset. Carthage has gave Wheaton fits in recent years. Playing at Carthage is not that easy and for the exception of the auggie game they have stayed close in all their games. I will take Carthage -2
