I think its something like Wheaton -4.

At Wheaton, I would put it closer to 8 points.

Agreed. But it's in Kenosha. (I would have said -7.5 @ Wheaton  :) )

I'll say Wheaton -6.  I still think Wheaton is pretty good regardless of the two losses and Carthage turns the ball over way too much.

I would agree, but I think I'm going to take Carthage with the upset. Carthage has gave Wheaton fits in recent years. Playing at Carthage is not that easy and for the exception of the auggie game they have stayed close in all their games. I will take Carthage -2

I'll take Wheaton plus the 2 all day!!

I don't even remember who Billy Pilgrim roots for?  :D

He is a Wheatie, but roots against certain Carthage running backs, I believe.
He does not believe in the powers of Kevin (Bad Boy) Burris
We will always be REDMEN

It should be an interesting weekend in D3 football.  If these projections stay true, would NCC host Whitewater in the 2nd round?  I am confused with the #1 vs #3 in the West region projected to play each other first round..am I missing something?

I think Wheaton @ -6.5 is a good line....
I think that it is pretty clear who each one of us will pick in the Wheaton/Carthage game, but I will let you pick.

I will give you first pick on the other two also.
(we'll use the spreads from the paper on these?)
11/22 - OSU vs. Michigan
12/6 - Alabama vs. Florida

Home field means nothing (IMO) for this match-up. Last year Carthage went to Wheaton as a severe underdog and won 35 - 27. The previous year Wheaton went to Carthage and trashed a pretty solid & experienced Red Men team 52 - 3. This is a young Red Men squad  prone to a lot of mistakes, working with new coordinators and different schemes on both sides of the ball. Of Coarse by now they should have it all figured out......but? Wheaton has a very experienced squad heading up to Kenosha who are probably pretty bitter about the turn of events in the second half of the season. For both teams this is it for the season. They will both empty the kitchen shelf with everything they have. I love my Red Men but, experience will rule the day in this match-up. I'll be happy if the game remains competitive from start to finish. Unfortunately my gut tells me Wheaton wins going away by at least 2 scores. If Wheaton shows up dragging their chins (which I doubt) Carthage could have a good ending to their season. I would put the odds as Wheaton -9.5

what you are missing is that the NCAA is cheap. They won't pay for 2 plane flights so having Occidental go to Willamette is 1 flight and the rest of the bracket is within 500 miles of each other. See Texas in 03, 05 and 06.

NCC vs Wartburg in round 1 and then host Whitewater. It all fits and makes some sense.

Hmmm...not sure how I feel about that.  Also, why would NCC not be a 1 seed?

It was Ohio St. Michigan.  And I don't think REDMAN04 IS MY DADDY! will ever forget who he had a bet with again!  ;D

Alright big dog.  I'll take Wheaton (-6.5) and the Gators on the 6th with whatever points Bama gives them.   Your call on OSU vs. Michigan.

Gracious, I caught so much flack for that.  I'm still recovering...  However, I must say (more than a year later) that I really feel like my points were backed up by the stats that I collected.  (PS Thank you Mugsy for coming to my rescue.)  And, I was surprised that you Kenosha boys killed me for the (Bad Boy) Burris comments and gave me no love for the well-researched props I gave to Dante Washington.

Why would they be? They certainly are not a #1 over Mt Union in the North so then you have to make a case as to why they should be a #1 over willamette or any other undefeated. They are not a #1 over Cortland. I am not sure how you can say an undefeated team from one region is better than one from another region.

I agree with Usee on this one.

I'm also not sold on Willamette.  So if NCC could beat Whitewater at HOME, they could very possibly be hosting the Regional Final too.  That has to be a better scenario than staying in the north and playing at MUC. ;D

Thanks, Usee.  Just a question, not implying anything.  I wasn't sure if the committee paid attention to the D3 or AFCA polls when they were determining brackets.
