Would you NCC guys say he is better than Kam Kniss? I think Kam is one of the better qb's the CCIW has seen over the years. There are many others outside the CCIW that are "best" all time.

Oh, sure... like we'll get an unbiased answer to that one.   ::) :P

good point!!  ;)

IMO, Kam was a great quarterback.  Kam was fast, smart, and had a great arm.  He was a team player and had some good tools to use.  But I definitely think Rupp is better.  He makes very smart decisions and protects the ball.  He makes his reads, and knows his offense like the back of his hand (hence the coaches allowing him to call his own plays).  He also does not try to force things.  It may appear that he is, but everything that he "forces" ends up in a reciever's hands.  An open reciever to Rupp is pretty much an open reciever in the pros, meaning that the reciever needs less than a step and Rupp will deliver it.  Rupp just has better tools, he's bigger, quicker, and has a better arm.  Not to take anything away from Kam and what he did, but Rupp gets the job done and done well.

Welcome aboard CrutchesMcGee!! I agree with you here. Not to take ANYTHING away from Kniss, Kam was a great qb. But, as I stated in an earlier post, I haven't seen a better D3 qb than Rupp. He puts the ball where it needs to be along with all the other points you mention.

To their credit, Franklin is doing everything they can (even if it costs money) to make the alternate site work for us and the other two radio crews.

does this include a portable heater to help keep the laptop warm?

I don't know about the portable heater, but I might have something to keep the person warm that is typing on that laptop. ;D

I wouldn't say he is "better".  He is very good, if not great.   I actually think they are very comparable.  Rupp missed a couple of guys running wide open that Kam wouldn't have missed, but IMHO, Rupp probably has a stronger arm. (that one is going to cost me!)  :D
But is he better than Kyle Orton?   I bet he would start for the Colts but because they have Manning that's why he stayed his senior year. :)
Being up for the Gagliardi Trophy he's getting good recognition at the national level from an up and coming program.
Being a CCIW homer I voted for Sulo but now would vote for Rupp looking at what he has done this year.
Was Kniss ever nominated or any other CCIW qb for that matter?

Kam was a finalist for the Gagliardi in 2005.

IMO the current "best ever" D3 qb was Bill Borchert from Mt Union. Look at these numbers:

Bill Borchert

Career: 1994-97
10,201 yds  1,009 attempts 671 completions 66.5 % 17 INT 141 TD's

And his Sr Season in 1997:
2,933 yds  272 att 190 completions 1 INT 69.9% 47 TD's

I saw him vs Wheaton in 1995 as a sophomore and he was awesome then. His 1997 stats don't include the playoffs because I know he finished that seson with 63Td's, which is unbelievable. (Yes you read that right---1 INT on 47 TD's in 10 games).

I look forward to seeing Mr. Rupp in action.

The best quarterback I've seen at the Division III level is Brett Elliott (Linfield).  Adam Knoblauch (Delaware Valley) was also a very special player but, as Del Val's radio guy, I'm not an objective observer.

I saw Tom Arth (John Carroll) but only as a wounded warrior in the playoffs.  I saw Rocky Pentello (Capital) but only once.  Mount Union guys like Zac Bruney and Rob Adamson were good but the talent of their teammates and tales of Borchert and Ballard (both of whom predate my time following Division III football) made their shine a little less prominent.

And I'm not sure where to rank option quarterbacks like the guys at Springfield and Salisbury.  They throw the ball so infrequently, it's almost like they play another position.

I saw Rocky Pentello and Brett Elliot play. Borchert v Pentello isn't even worth the conversation. Borchert was better than Elliot in my opinion. I never saw Arth but I know he was on the practice squad for the Colts for a while.

Arth, John Carroll  had the prototypical NFL body and tools...He was hurt in his senior year and still carried JCU back to Mount Union in the playoffs  (third round I think)...
Ballard, Mount Union, had the NFL type tools also, but never could catch a break..He did have some real success in NFL Europe (championship with the Scottish Claymores) and Canada.
Borchert was small in comparison to these guys, as I remember...be he was phenomenal athletically and mentally....
Elliott was a DI transfer from Utah where he played for Urban Meyer, and he was indeed a great player.

So...if Rupp is in this league, I hope he gets  to match up with Mount Union as that is the only way I will get to see him..

I've seen Rupp and Pentello each twice. IMO Rupp is better.

I've seen both twice as well and I'd have to give the nod to Pentello... However, I'd argue that 05 & 06 Capital team is better that the 07 & 08 Franklin team... which always makes the QB looks better.
