I have another question for you penny analysts in the room:

What, if anything,  does it me that Wheaton turned it over 4x vs Trine and won 14-0 and Franklin turned it over 5x v Trine and lost 30-27?

I believe this means Trine's 2008 defense was awfully good at forcing turnovers.

I also believe Saturday is going to be a D3 version of an "Instant Classic".  Which unsung hero will step up for the winning team?

Is there anything better than the Division III Playoffs?  The folks in Division 1 sure are missing out...

Agreed....Could you imagine if D3 had a system similar to Division 1 and the BCS?

Can you imagine running up the score in a CCIW conference game for style points??

The only good part is NCC may have been playing for a national title last week instead of just playing to get to the quarterfinals..... :)

If there were 4 bowl games in the Division 3  BCS,   what would they be called?  I can imagine it would get pretty creative.

Mugsy,

Spot on with your response to Grizzbacker.  Thankfully, Franklin's offense has been the story of this run and the sometimes curt and overzealous posting of a few of the "johnny-come-lately" Grizzly contributors to the CCIW and OAC thread.  This is actually pretty tame compared with what transpired on the OAC board immediately following Franklin's win over Otterbein.

I guess Pat Coleman sees these posters coming out of nowhere (literally) annually when an underdog team makes a run in the tournament.

Here's to an injury-free game that is decided on the field.

relax folks  i forgot one of the smiley faces i guess ;D

Got to love how the, "I forgot the smiley," comment allows for instant backpedaling! Just kidding or in smiley speak...... ;) ;D

Nice job as always, Mugsy.  Hey, Griz, Mugsy explained my interest in the game very eloquently as usual, but let me just add that my experiences and observations of this board over the years is that it is one of the most, cordial, respectful and above all, knowledgable group of posters on Post Patterns.  Most of them do a tremendous amount of research and use facts, not bravado, to make their points.  That is why when the Wheaton/Franklin matchup seemed to be the hardest call for me in the WIAC pick em's, I did not hesitate to stop over on a fact finding mission.  If you are in search of a pi$$ing contest, you won't find it here.  Good luck to both teams and here's hoping for a great, injury-free game on both sides.

I still can't decide who I will pick and time is runnning out.  ???

One could be called "The Bob Meyer Bowl?"

Can I just say that I really appreciate all the good debate and stats that have been on here the past few days.  I haven't been as involved as much this season due to work responsibilities, but I really appreciate the info which really helped me keep up this week and year.

Mr. Ypsi

redman04,

I need clarification on your pickems.  Based on your followup post, am I correct that you are now picking Wheaton over Franklin?

Good luck to the Thunder tomorrow afternoon!  Your guys made a believer out of this football fan.  Should be a great game with two teams playing their best ball of the year.   :)

Good luck Thunder.  Should be a heck of a game.

60% chance of snow tomorrow w/ 15 mph winds could impact the Grizzly air attack.

I suspect that you'll be making the treck to Alliance in a week's time.

Sponsored by Bulk Monster... So, "The Bulk Monster Bob Meyer Bowl" :o  Also, the game would have to be played at "The Big House" every year.

Heading to Indy bright and early tomorrow morning.  I hope not through white and drifty snow...

Hopefully this game ends up being everything I'm anticipating it will be... a tightly contested battle between two closely matched teams.
