Heading to Indy bright and early tomorrow morning.  I hope not through white and drifty snow...
On your one horse open sleigh?  :D :P

Good luck to the Thunder tomorrow!

I suppose he'll have to go over a river and through some woods, but does his grandmother live in Franklin? :P

Mugsy,

Spot on with your response to Grizzbacker.  Thankfully, Franklin's offense has been the story of this run and the sometimes curt and overzealous posting of a few of the "johnny-come-lately" Grizzly contributors to the CCIW and OAC thread.  This is actually pretty tame compared with what transpired on the OAC board immediately following Franklin's win over Otterbein.

I guess Pat Coleman sees these posters coming out of nowhere (literally) annually when an underdog team makes a run in the tournament.

Here's to an injury-free game that is decided on the field.

relax folks  i forgot one of the smiley faces i guess ;D

Got to love how the, "I forgot the smiley," comment allows for instant backpedaling! Just kidding or in smiley speak...... ;) ;D

Nice job as always, Mugsy.  Hey, Griz, Mugsy explained my interest in the game very eloquently as usual, but let me just add that my experiences and observations of this board over the years is that it is one of the most, cordial, respectful and above all, knowledgable group of posters on Post Patterns.  Most of them do a tremendous amount of research and use facts, not bravado, to make their points.  That is why when the Wheaton/Franklin matchup seemed to be the hardest call for me in the WIAC pick em's, I did not hesitate to stop over on a fact finding mission.  If you are in search of a pi$$ing contest, you won't find it here.  Good luck to both teams and here's hoping for a great, injury-free game on both sides.

I still can't decide who I will pick and time is runnning out.  ???

no pissing contest here  just enjoying the fact that FC may be four quarters from the final four   just got back from a happy hour party  vodka punch   still want to here what happened with Elmhurst (Wheaton's Trine IMO)   ;D   i work a ton of hours and dont have time for data analysis but I am sure we can all prove a point or two  that is why this game is so close  if it were Mt Union we wouldn't have to analyze!! :'(

I think I'm going to the game as I have changed my mind many times as to stay or to go. ???

For all those who are going here is an inspirational saying from Judge Smales with a twist.

A man worthwhile is a man who can smile when his rump is frozen to the visitor side aluminum seats. ;D

Good Luck Thunder!!  If it couldn't be us, glad it's you!  I'm sure you will represent the conference well.   I'm looking for a 10 point Thunder win.

Mugsy

I know this post may put me in danger of being banned, but congrats to the Wheaton Women's soccer team who won 3-1 tonight and will be playing tomorrow for their 3rd straight National Championship.  Regardless of what sport and what level, that is very impressive.

Glad you noticed, Mugsy!

I'll listen to WETN from Greensboro and enjoy the victory over Franklin.  Then (hopefully) I'll watch Wheaton win their fourth national  championship in five years.

Wheaton got whipped by Elmhurst. They turned it over 6x (4 in the first half) and the final score was not indicative of how bad they were beaten. I said then that they were done and not a top 25 team. They repented and were granted redemption and now they are a top 8 and maybe a top 4 team. No Trine, no excuses just a whoopin. Could certainly happen again tomorrow. But the Thunder are playing their best football of the year right now so it will take a great effort by Franklin to repeat the Elmhurst debacle.

Good luck to both teams tomorrow on the frozen tundra.

The record they have compiled over that time frame is sick.  What is it, something like 119-9?  I thought it would be their 4th in 5 years, but wasn't 100% sure and didn't want to post something inaccurate.

The captain from last years team goes to my church...

Mr. Ypsi

They may win their 4th title in 5 years (I really hope they do), but they didn't win the CCIW this year! :D

Someday (hopefully soon) IWU will break through on the national stage.

Until then, Go Thunder! ;)

With one part "bias" and two parts "wishful thinking", my prediction is ...

Wheaton 37, Franklin 28

Go Thunder.  ;D

game is under way.

Franklin recieves and goes 3 and out. Wheaton w pressure on 3rd and 4 forces incomplete. Franklin punts and Wheaton starts in franklin terrirtory.

once again Norris' first pass is intercepted. off the hands of wheaton's reciever and Franklin has the ball at their 35
